A MOTHER has been charged after allegedly giving marijuana and alcohol to two 14-year-old boys and engaging in sex acts with them.
Amalia Utz, 47, from Chicago, US, was arrested last week after police received an anonymous tip-off about a woman alleged to have assaulted a minor last September.
Interviews later uncovered a second alleged victim, also aged 14.
The boys are thought to be friends of Utz's son, who is currently enrolled at Medea Creek Middle School in the Oak Park district west of Chicago.
Officials from the Ventura County sheriff's office said the allegations first emerged via the Report It service, an online tool that allows people to report concerns to school district officials anonymously.
The allegations reportedly concern mostly students from Oak Park High School, which is situated across the road from Utz's apartment.
Police confirmed they had attended the apartment on several occasions in the past in response to reports of parties and drug-taking, local station CBSLA reported.
They also said they had found children, including runaways, at the property.
Neighbours said they had seen young boys coming and going from the apartment over a period of months.
CCTV footage from outside the complex showed groups of young people leaving the flat late at night.
An unidentified neighbour said: “The kids came over after school, maybe four to six, and there’s just like, too much activity over there."
Utz has now been charged with with committing lewd acts with a child and oral copulation with a minor under the age of 16.
She was released after posting bail of $20,000 (£15,700).
Residents of the block where Utz lives said they would be holding an emergency meeting to decide whether she should be evicted.
Dr Tony Knight, superintendent of the Oak Park Unified School District, said in an email to parents and staff: “This is an incredibly disturbing and tragic situation.
“We want to thank the people who used the Report It tool to alert us to this as well as the Oak Park High School students who reported the rumour to administrators.
"We cannot overemphasise the importance of speaking up when you hear or see something that is suspicious.
"Our instincts as parents and educators are very often right.”
The district also said that it was concerned there could be other victims, and asked parents to talk with their children.

The love of parents for their child is unparalleled. There is no denying that a parent will do anything to protect their child from harm and try to equip them as best as possible for the challenges of the world. However, subjecting a child to brutality is not a part of that preparation.
But that’s the view a couple who turned their daughter into a ‘sex slave’ seems to hold.
As reported by the DailyMail, the girl was assaulted frequently from December 2016 to March 2017.
She also admitted that she herself was raped when she was 13-years-old and claimed that they were only training their daughter in advance for adult life. The couple believed that it was better for her to lose her virginity with her father than learn about sexual life in other ways.

Her grandmother and great-grandmother also lived in the same flat but denied having any knowledge of the assault. As per latest developments, the parents have now been stripped of their parental rights, which means they will never be allowed to raise a child again. The girl has been put in care.
I can’t imagine the monstrosity of such people who really believe in their twisted minds that they were preparing their daughter by subjecting her to such trauma. We hope they are aptly punished for their horrendous crime.
