A HEARTBROKEN mom claims a patient was waiting for her 28-year-old son's hospital bed as he died from coronavirus.
Jackie Harkins said the ill woman was put in Adam's bed straight after his death at University College Hospital in North London.
And the devastated mum has revealed how hero NHS staff are "rushed off their feet" trying to deal with the outbreak of the deadly disease.
Jackie told the Camden New Journal: "She was on a trolley in the hallway just waiting there to go in.
"While I was visiting Adam two people flatlined. When the machine started going off you can see it. They all rush in and rush over.
"I feel like there is too much going on for them (NHS staff) to keep up with what they need to do."
The mom told how Adam - nicknamed Spud - had been rushed to hospital with pneumonia earlier this week after he called her saying he "couldn't breathe".
His GP's surgery had told him they could see him in a car park after he was unable to get through to 111 but his temperature rocketed to 39.9C and an ambulance was called.

When he got to hospital, the painter and decorator was put in an induced coma but tragically he did not make it.
Describing his final moments, Jackie said she told him "you need to fight".
And the mom is now calling for separate cubicles for patients as the beds in the hospital were all next to each other.
She also warned Brits that coronavirus "is not just an old person's disease" following her son's death.
Paying tribute, she added: "I’ve lost something very precious to me that can never be replaced. We are all just in shock because he was only a young man.
"People have got to start taking this seriously. A lot of people think it’s an old person’s disease – but look what has happened to Adam."
Towie star Lauren Goodger also paid tribute to Adam, who was a friend's pal, this week.
Sharing a picture of the tragic victim, she wrote: "Rest in peace Spud.
"This virus is real, and it's spreading. Please stay at home people."
It comes as Britain's grim death toll rose by 181 to 759 in the biggest 24-hour jump so far.
Today, 168 deaths were recorded in England along with eight deaths in Scotland, six deaths in Wales and three deaths in Northern Ireland.
And 14,579 are infected with Covid-19 in Britain - an increase of 2,921 since yesterday.
Among the cases is Prime Minister Boris Johnson, who confirmed he had tested positive for the killer virus today.
And Health Secretary Matt Hancock is also self-isolating after being struck down with coronavirus.

A mother’s biggest desire is to raise her children in a way that they become well-adjusted adults, be it physically, emotionally or socially. She lays the foundations of our cultural expectations, the good and bad, dos and don’ts in their minds. Still, the fact remains that children do not come with a manual, nobody gets trained to be a parent. It is an ever-changing dare that we pick and adapt to, lifelong, to fulfill our role.
Mothers spend more time around children and they are first to observe changes in behaviour that others are likely to miss. They catch them eating mud, pinching pencils from classmates, abusing during fights, hitting others or throwing food. They address these issues and convince their children that these destructive impulses need to be controlled.
Still there is a phase of a child’s life that mothers feel inadequate and confused to address- their developing sexuality. The daughters are easier counselled because the mother herself has been down that road but a son’s sexuality is out of her purview. Suddenly he is a young man growing tall like a giant above her head, developing facial fluff, deepening voice and smelling different from the child she has known all these years.
One day she washes his bedsheet and finds semen stains on it, finds a pack of condoms at the back of a drawer. She doesn’t know how to react. All hell breaks loose when she peeps in his room to check if he has slept off after studies and to her utter disbelief, finds him secretly masturbating.
The mother is disturbed and upset. Will he turn into a sexually obsessed pervert? She is reminded of all theories she has read about men becoming physically and emotionally weak by the loss of semen. Doctrines of Brahmacharya flash in her mind. Is he watching porn? Is he sexually active, courting the wrong girls/boys? Has he ever bought commercial sex? The mind thinks the worst.
A woman I know, once saw her son indulge himself and was very worried. The boy was average at studies and did not enjoy a very cordial relationship with the super achiever father. She feared that telling the father would further worsen the relationship. Yet the boy needed guidance. She asked our common friend, a professional counsellor for children and adolescents to help her child.
This is what our friend had to say:
1. Do not catch the child in the act.
3. A child is entitled to explore and understand his body.
5. Invading his privacy can trigger guilt and shame.
6. Introduce good informative sex education literature to his bookshelves. He would better explore and understand in privacy at his pace. Things you might feel inhibited to articulate.
7. Pick up sensitive topics about sexuality, homosexuality, infertility, impotence from media feeds in general contexts and discuss them with your child. He should feel it’s alright to talk to you.
8. Do not jump to guesses, admit if you don’t know something and check facts before answering.
9. Be prepared to reply questions about your intimate lives. Refer a counsellor if you are uncomfortable.
10. They would have curiosity about the opposite sex. Accept it and answer in a relaxed manner. (Do not jump to conclusions or judge if he asks about shaving genital hair, a sex toy or a vibrator.)
It is best to have a healthy open relationship with parents than to know about sex from misinformed peers and internet.
Take a deep breath mom! Raising your children to be sexually well-adjusted adults, who enjoy a fulfilling life, is a part of your job. Nobody told you about it? Well, I just did.
