A mother who shared a video that showed her kissing her young daughter has copped heavy criticism – but the act has divided parents.

Parents have leapt to the defence of a Sydney mother who was criticised for kissing her young daughter on public transport.
The TikTok video shows the small child standing on a City Rail train seat where she can be seen leaning over its back towards her mum who is sat on a seat behind.
The unidentified mother and daughter are holding hands, sharing multiple kisses with their eyes closed for eight seconds as “romantic” music plays in the background.
Along with the footage, the mother posted several hashtags including “kids”, “kiss”, “kisstime” and “mother daughter bond”.
Some social media users were shocked by the public display of affection – but others have rushed to defend her after the clip went viral and sparked a debate whether or not the smooches were appropriate.
As a result, the mother has removed the video.
Before the video was taken down, it was reported people were asking, “Why do you kiss your kid like that?”
“Why are you making out with your child on a train? Why?” one said, according to a report by The Sun.
“Do not kiss your child like that,” another is said to have stated.
One woman asked the mother to explain “why” she embraces her child in that way, writing: “That doesn’t make any sense to me and I would like to hear your reasoning.”
However, other parents reportedly came to the defence of the mother.
One said: “She isn’t even kissing her kid.
“She is just standing there and that’s her child doing it all. Calm down.”
Debate has since spilled out onto Facebook where parents shared their thoughts, many supporting the mother.
“Get a grip... if you got issues with parents giving their kids kisses on their lips.. go seek medical help!!” one raged.
“People need to go boil their heads if they think kissing your child on the lips, showing them love and affection is ‘making out’.....Crazy world we live in,” another furiously agreed.
While one said: “I kiss my son all the time!! It’s called love!! We aren’t raising little robots who grow up not being able to show emotion and affection.”
However, some said an eight second smooch was “a bit much” adding it looks “weird” to people watching.
“I wouldn’t do it and I don’t like seeing it,” one commented.
“It’s a bit strange but none of my business,” someone else remarked.
