A look at the ways you can support the Connections program.
We recently introduced our Connections program and now we would like to explain how community members can get involved.
The MOM Family Garden provides fresh produce and a space for gardening training to a dedicated group of families. Each week, MOM volunteers and MOM clients work together to tend a half-acre garden in west Middleton. MOM also gladly accepts garden produce from home gardens.
On Thursday, June 2, MOM was delighted to return to Lakeview Park in Middleton for the first Volunteer Appreciation Picnic since 2019.

MOM News
We are excited to share some information about how our services will be expanding next month, drawing on the best parts of our pre-Covid model and integrating it with the best parts of our new model to come up with a system that will serve our community better than ever before.
Thank you to 1847 at the Stamm House for hosting MOMβs Gather event last month. Proceeds raised from the event will help provide food security and housing stability to neighbors in our community.
Beth Johnson joined the MOM team as Community Engagement Manager in April to work on MOMβs fundraising events and to continue building relationships with businesses who support MOMβs mission.
We are happy to welcome Nicole Verhagen as the new housing Case Manager for the Connections Program at MOM!

Connections Program
Connections is a housing program that aims to support households that are in doubled-up living arrangements to transition into stable permanent housing. Doubling-up is when an individual or family lives with another household temporarily or shuffles between homes because of economic or system barriers.
MOM recently nominated Garth Yeazel for a United Way of Dane Countyβs Community Volunteer Award. Garth has volunteered with MOM for around 20 years in the information technology area. He has a heart for service, and always jumps into help, using his very broad range of skills.
