Children's teenage years are supposed to be full of learning and laughter but one man has spoken of the unimaginable abuse he received at the hands of the person he trusted most - his mother.
'Hamish' who is now in his 50s, was 12 years old when his childhood innocence was taken away from him by his mum.
The woman who he described as 'mentally unwell' had sex with him one day when he was recovering from sickness.
An Australian man has told the horrifying tale about the sexual abuse he received at the hands of the one person he trusted most in the world - his mother (stock image)
'She had this big bedroom and if we were ever sick or anything like that we'd stay in her bed. One day she just initiated it, she just started touching me and it just went from there,' Hamish told news.com.au .
'She preyed on the fact I was coming into puberty and made me feel important and special.'
Hamish thought he had it all growing up, he lived in a wealthy suburb and went to a private school but all that meant nothing behind closed doors.
He suffered physical and mental abuse that has scarred him for life and was warned to not talk about the sexual abuse saying that he was told that 'people wouldn't understand'.
Hamish said that the abuse only stopped once his mother died when he was 15 but he has carried the scars of those awful three years for a lifetime.
The memories of his traumatic childhood were repressed and Hamish moved on and fell in love and got married in the early 90s.

He struggled with the abuse and kept it secret from his wife for 20 years until a story surfaced in the news that brought memories flooding back.
'It's really hard to tell someone you love, "By the way, my mother abused me and I had sex with my mother",' he said.
Unfortunately for Hamish the secret took its toll on his relationship and he and his wife split three years ago after he had an affair.
Hamish wishes he had received some help for the mental scarring and regrets what it did to his relationship

Thinking of a trip in early Dec. with son - ideally, I'd like to be in 5th or 6 arrondissement and thinking of a hotel with a room with two beds. Do not need two rooms/connecting room, one room is fine, just want two beds. Anyone have suggestion?
Just ask for twin beds. Most hotels just push two beds together to make a full or queen. I just booke Hotel de l’Alma in the 7th and requested twins with no problem.
twin beds are easy to find at nearly any hotel in Paris . A twin room is two single beds. A double room is one double bed (often two twins pushed together).
If you want an American style room with two double/full beds in it, I know for sure they have those at Crowne Plaza Republique and at some of the Holiday Inns. I like the Crowne Plaza. It's a nice hotel and a convenient location, next to a metro hub. But the area isn't the postcard charm most Americans seem to want - it's more urban feeling.
pretty flex -- I have in mind a 4 star hotel. Not on a *very* tight budget.
Stars in Paris don't mean what you think. They specifically relate to what amenities are available like room size, languages spoken by staff and if there's a gym. Stars in Paris do not refer to quality (though often they are similar as a property that is meeting the criteria for 4 or 5 stars is probably trying to be high quality).
In many traditional hotels in France , the two separate beds in a twin bed room will be pushed together and share one headboard. So basically it feels like one big bed but with separate bedding for each twin bed.
I don’t know if you & your son would be comfortable with that set up — it would not have worked for me when my son was that age.
The international chain hotels are more likely to have the type of twin bed set-up that Americans are accustomed to.
You can get a nice size twin bed room at the Paris Pullman Tour Eiffel , for example.
Or if you want a more traditional hotel closer to the center, I would suggest you try the triple room at the charming Hotel Left Bank St Germain in the 6e. It is one large comfortable room, with one double bed and a separate single bed across the room.
(I stayed there years ago with one of my then-teens, and the set-up was perfect. The hotel has been refurbished since then, and the location is really great.)
Yes, I was just going to make the same point as #6. Those twin beds are pushed very closely together as most hotel rooms are fairly small, or comparatively so.
If you do consider 2 rooms, that would give you 2 bathrooms, which would come in very handy.

Really, if your budget is not very tight (not sure what means in € or USD), given the size of Paris hotel rooms, two rooms is a much better idea. For example, you could probably get two rooms at Hotel Excelsior Latin and have comfortable full-size beds. The Crown Plaza Republique has rooms with two double beds.

A mother surprised her son by entering his home while he had a girl over and got into his bed with them. Some commenters on her video think she went too far.
In a TikTok posted on May 8, @crazystoreowner says she saw her son, who is 23, post on Instagram that he had a girl at his house. The TikToker says that she thinks the girl slept over at her son’s house.
“So we’re headin’ over right now to go meet her,” @crazystoreowner owner says in her TikTok. The woman opens the front door to her son’s house, goes into his bedroom, wakes up both her son and the woman he is with, takes the blanket off of them, gets into bed with them, and says “Happy Mother’s Day!”
In the video’s caption, the TikToker says she’s aware that she’s “the worst mom ever.”
“Let the comments begin,” the caption continues. “I gotta keep it fun.”
And @crazystoreowner was right about an influx of comments: On Thursday, she had received almost 14,000 comments on the video, which was viewed over 2 million times.
I know I am the worst mom. Let the comments begin. Yes, he’s 23! But, I gotta keep it fun. Love him.
Many commenters on @crazystoreowner’s video said that her video displayed a lack of boundaries between her and her son—boundaries that might be able to be enforced if she didn’t have a key to her son’s home.
“I’d change the locks,” @easylikebutta1 commented.
“Her house key is revoked!” @kristen11111969 wrote.
“Bare minimum was to at least knock,” @aribabyy commented.
“What if they were being ‘intimate’ and you just barged in?” @glitt3rjunki3 questioned.
Others discussed the potential consequences of @crazystoreowner’s actions.
“This is the reason my mom and I don’t get along. She is too involved,” @jes.the.mess077 wrote. “All of the women he dates will hate you, mark my words!”
“You will never see the grandkids,” @earthmama1023 commented.
“I’d actually never speak to my mother again,” @zoeyxmejia wrote.
Some comments also focused on the fact that the TikToker pulled the blanket off her son and the woman he was with: “This is so wrong,” @bertybits said of that specific part of the video.
Commenters have even taken to @crazystoreowner’s recent videos to tell her that she needs to work on her boundaries with family members.
“We need an explanation for your last video ma’am,” @zurismom commented on @crazystoreowner’s video posted on May 10.
