I get how frustrating it can be when your loved one keeps protecting an abusive spouse. You need to be calm and give her the support she needs.
Some people live in a constant state of fear, fear that the spouse is going to leave them, fear they will never be good for anyone else.
I think it will be very helpful if your mum could attend help groups/sessions for women that have been abused. She should know that she is not alone in this and that she has her loved ones and children behind her.
I know it is very tempting to punch that guy but do think of your mum first. Instead of screaming and cursing at him, find a good time, sit your mum down and let her know your concerns. Tell her how worried you are. In the end, you just want her to be happy. You want her to be with a guy that could take care of her 24/7, is responsible, pays the bills, respectful and is kind to others etc. Don't she feel she deserves a good guy, instead of one who just lazes around the house, calls her fat, doesn't help out around the house etc.
Your mum is an adult. In the end, she leads her own life and she made her own choices. You and your siblings can only help and advise that much. You cannot force her to leave that guy. She has to do that on her own.
I would sit down with my mom and explain to her how I felt about all of it. At the end of the day SHE has to want things to change. As bad as you want them for her, until she decides that she's had enough there isn't really much you can do. But still tell her how you're feeling just to get it off your chest.

I stopped reading after the drinking part. Just another piece of proof among million others how women have the dumbest instincts. All you care about is if the man in question makes the area between your legs wet. The guy who WON'T make your life miserable is always in the friend zone because he's so boring. So you and your mother should both shut the fuck up and live in misery with that loser. That's what you love deep down. Women love to be abused. If I was that guy I would also convince your dumb mother to get married so I can divorce her later and then let her work while I'm dedicating my time to my hobbies. NEW mum Jess Aldridge returned from hospital with her baby to find her boyfriend had run off with her own mother.
Jess, 24, was betrayed by partner Ryan Shelton, 29, while she was heavily pregnant and they lived in a support bubble with mum Georgina and her husband Eric.
Within weeks of their moving in, randy gran-of-six Georgina, 44, began flirting with Ryan.
And, by the time Jess came home with newborn Reuben, they had run off together and moved into a new home 30 miles away.
When Jess confronted her mum, she shrugged and said: “We can’t help who we fall in love with.”
Jess told The Sun: “It’s the ultimate betrayal. You expect a new grandmother to fall in love with the baby — not the father.
She is meant to be a gran, but instead she’s off sh***ing my boyfriend.
“She is meant to be a granny to my two children and helping me look after them but instead she’s off sh***ing my boyfriend.
“I’m heartbroken and I’ve lost everything — my mum and the father to my kids.”
Jess had been with car parts salesman Ryan for three years after meeting online.
She gave up working as a housekeeper at a Premier Inn in ­Chipping Norton, Oxon, before ­having their first child Georgiana in ­September 2019.
A year later, while pregnant with Reuben she moved in with mum-of-five Georgina and her 56-year-old husband Eric in Stow-on-the-Wold, Gloucestershire.
Full-time mum Jess said she thought that moving back home would be the perfect arrangement.
She went on: “We went to live with my mum and dad after mum said she would help with the childcare.
"She promised it would be easier with the new baby but ­actually it was very, very tough.
“We were stuck together for months in the house during lockdown. It was so hard especially as Ryan and mum were always being so flirty. I felt so uncomfortable, it was a horrible experience.
“Usually, they would drink Bacardi and be laughing and joking around in the kitchen every night while my dad and I were on the sofa watching TV.
“Once, I caught Ryan touching my mum’s bum — and he just said he was trying to get her to move out of his way.
“I had a feeling something was going on for months but I never wanted to believe it.
“It was disgusting. She would wear these short dresses and be all touchy-feely with him on the sofa.

“Once I confronted them both about it and they just shrugged it off and said it was nothing.
“They always insisted there wasn’t anything between them but I always suspected they were up to something.”
Reuben was delivered via C- section at Gloucestershire Royal Hospital on January 28 while Jess’s sister, Carolena, 19, looked after Georgiana.
Georgina was her daughter’s birthing partner, so was with her when Reuben arrived.
Hours later, Ryan broke up with Jess by text, claiming he was sick of her accusing him of having an affair with her mum.
He had seen Reuben for a few minutes after he was born and came to see his son again the day after — on the way to collect his belongings.
What Jess did not know was he was moving in with Georgina in a new home in another county.
Jess said: “Ryan had seen baby Reuben for only a few minutes after he was born and then ten minutes the day afterwards as he was moving all his stuff.
“They were in such a rush. He had even had my mum waiting for him with the car packed in the car park.”
Jess was discharged from hospital on January 30 to find Ryan and Georgina had moved out. He still denied anything was going on and it was another two days before they finally admitted they were in a relationship.
Jess said: “They finally admitted to me they were together a few days after I came out of hospital.
“When I came home from hospital all their things had gone. I knew Ryan would be with my mum but neither of them would admit it.
“Finally, the day after, he admitted they were in a relationship.
“My mum told me she can’t help who she falls in love with and Ryan told me the same thing. It was a huge kick in the teeth, they had been planning it throughout my whole pregnancy.
“The day after I found out she split up with my dad who has taken it really badly. He’s devastated. This was going on for six months behind my back.
“They used to make excuses to spend time together and left me pregnant at home.
“It makes me feel sick. What they’ve done is disgusting and vile.”
Nursing home worker Georgina, who was married once before, had been with Eric for 12 years before they wed in 2018.
Jess said: “A few weeks before I went into hospital my mum had told me she wanted to leave my dad but I never through she would be shacking up with my fella instead.”
Jess claimed that neither Ryan, originally from Witney, Oxon, nor her mum had apologised.
When Jess finally confronted her mum she shrugged it off, telling her: “We can’t help who we fall in love with.”

The lovers have announced themselves as in a relationship on Facebook — baffling friends and family, some of whom have shunned them.
But Jess, who has now returned to the two-bed rented home she used to share with Ryan in Willersey, Gloucs, said: “They’ve just been so selfish. I’m horrified.
“How am I supposed to explain to everyone that the kids’ dad and their gran are in a relationship?
“Some of our friends saw his new relationship status on Facebook and were stunned.
“I’ve had lots of messages asking what happened and if I’m OK.”
Jess also has also been left to meet the £439-a-month rent for her home on her own using just her universal credit payments.

With a newborn as well as another toddler to care for, you will, no doubt, be feeling incredibly vulnerable and low.
Do keep talking to your dad, sister and others for support. Above all, be kind to yourself.
It is too raw now but when you are feeling strong enough your mum and ex need to know how badly they have let you down and they must take responsibility for their actions.
As difficult as it is to consider at this moment, children are always better off when separating parents can communicate well.
Try not to bad-mouth your mum and ex in front of your children. Keep them out of this awful mess
It will only damage their self esteem if you put down their dad in front of them.

“But this year he’s left me and our children and gone off with my mum. I’ve been put off men for a long time. I’m not looking for a boyfriend any time soon.”
Georgina and Ryan have both refused to comment.
