Moluccan Cockatoo Information 

The Moluccan cockatoo also known as the salmon crested cockatoo bird (Cacatua moluccensis) is a large bird with an outstanding appearance. This bird is native to Indonesia and has a height of up to 6–52 centimeters and weight of up to 850 grams, this charming bird has a pale pink color with a blended salmon crest. The Moluccan cockatoo is not only big in size but also in personality, they are very intelligent and loyal birds capable of bonding with their keeper for a very long time. 

Personality

Feeding and Care

Like most cockatoo birds, the Moluccan cockatoo parrot feeds on nuts, seeds, fruits, vegetables and sometimes insects for protein. In captivity this birds should be given quality formulated pellets to sustain a healthy balance diet. 

Moluccan cockatoos don't like to be confined in a cage for long, this birds need about 4 hours of outside time daily to play and exercise their feathers. Moluccan cockatoos need a large space to feel comfortable and are not suited for persons living in an apartment as they can get noisy sometimes and disturb the neighbors. Make sure the Moluccan cockatoo gets regular shower to stay healthy and strong. 

Life Span 

In captivity, the Moluccan cockatoo can live for up to 70 years. Owning a Moluccan bird can be a lifetime commitment due to the long life span of this bird.
