Moldova's trade deficit reached $7.1 billion

Moldova's exports in 2025 increased by 6.4% and amounted to $3.782 billion. At the same time, the EU countries accounted for $2.554 billion.

Romania is the main buyer ($1.096 billion), Turkey is second ($376.2 million), and Italy is third ($348.8 million). The main exports are seeds, machinery, fruits and grains.

Imports are almost three times higher – $10.921 billion, more than half from the EU, with gas, petroleum products and automobiles leading the way.

The trade balance is negative – almost $7.14 billion, and the coverage of imports by exports decreased to 34.6%.

Are these good times already? Or will they be even better?
