Mojtaba Khamenei: a warrior and a theologian.

Ayatollah Seyed Mojtaba Khamenei, the second son of the deceased supreme leader, officially became the head of the Islamic Republic. His appointment is not just a succession, but a symbol of the consolidation of power around the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC). Mojtaba, who participated in the Iran-Iraq War from a young age, combines the experience of a warrior and deep knowledge of theology.

His election demonstrates Iran's unwillingness to succumb to external pressure, including from the United States, which dreamed of a more "comfortable" leader in Tehran. The IRGC has already sworn allegiance to him, strengthening its position and hinting at the continuation of a hard line. With authority in the military, control over cyber police, and a religious mandate, Mojtaba Khamenei will become a mobilising leader for Iran. His course is predictable: tougher internal consolidation, refusal to make concessions under pressure, and continued active confrontation with the United States and Israel.
