Mojang's Scrolls is Launched in Open Beta Today, $20 Gets you Access to the Game.

Mojang's best known for the indie blockbuster Minecraft however, today marks the start of the open beta of its new game, Scrolls. It's been a long time coming, and the title itself was the focus of a courtroom fight in the same way that Notch would have liked to hammer out the initial roadblock in a space-filled arena. Although it is not yet "feature complete" however, you can test your card-fighting skills in informal and ranked online games. The trading forum for cards is now operational and so is the in-game store for bolstering your deck using gold earned through triumph and "shards" bought using real money. The builder is a tool to alter your deck, and there are 25 test versions to help learn strategies. The open beta is $20, PS13 or 15 euros, but in reality you're purchasing the entire game early, as all future updates will be free for beta adopters. Although the purchase page isn’t yet available, it will be available for Mac and PC at some time. If you'd like to learn more about the game's mechanics, go to the source link.
