Moans Of Nirn
Moans Of Nirn
Nirn is a planet referred to by otherworldly beings as the mortal plane and sometimes poetically called "Mundus" by both mortals and Daedric lords.[1] The exact reasons and specifics behind Nirn's creation are largely uncertain. However, all agree that the deity Lorkhan and the Eight Divines played pivotal roles in the creation of the planet.[2][3][4] Two moons, Secunda and Masser, orbit Nirn ...
Nirn is generally thought to have two moons: Masser and Secunda, also known as Jode and Jone respectively. Masser is the larger of the two, being well over twice Secunda's size. [3] According to the Khajiit, there is a third moon, which they consider the corpse of Lorkhaj. [4][5] The Jonelight Path, a realm described as the place between places where the "liminal forces that bind each here to ...
Why does Nirn have two moons? More specifically, what lore purpose does having two moons serve? The various planets in Mundus's solar system are said to be the Planes of Oblivion. Step through an Oblivion gate in the 4th game, and suddenly you've traveled an insterstellar distance, and you're now suddenly on another planet.
Skyrim 's moons Masser and Secunda orbit Nirn, but they are much more than satellites in Elder Scrolls lore. Like everything else in Skyrim, Masser and Secunda have deep histories that extend back to the origin story of the Elder Scroll s universe itself. However, Masser and Secunda's mythologies are unique in that much of the stories surrounding the two celestial bodies are ambiguous despite ...
The Moons are generally regarded as Jone and Jode, Secunda and Masser, Stendarr's Sorrow and Mara's Tear. They are 'Divine Corpses' and 'Guardian Bodies' of Nirn. Only Fal Droon really disputes the common perception of them as lesser deities linked to the guardianship of Nirn. That crackpot associates them with the corpse of Lorkhan instead.
Nirn (which means ' Gray Maybe ' in Ehlnofex), [1][nb 1] or the mortal Aurbis, [1] is the Mortal Plane, the planet upon which Tamriel and the mortal races reside. It floats in the void of Oblivion and comprises the core of the region known as Mundus. [2] Some sources use the terms Nirn and Mundus synonymously, though others describe Mundus as a more expansive structure which extends past Nirn ...
Nirn - (believed to mean 'Arena' in Old Ehlnofex) is the only habitable planet. It floats in the void of Oblivion and is, for all intents and purposes, the majority of the realm known as Mundus. You'll hear people merge the distinguishes between Nirn and Mundus, but, despite the resemblance of theirs, they are different.
The two moons of Nirn, Masser and Secunda The Void Nights were a two-year period in the Fourth Era (4E 98 - 4E 100), during which the two moons of Nirn, Masser and Secunda, disappeared. [1] Effects Given the significance of the moons to the Khajiit in Elsweyr, there was large panic and unrest among them. The Khajiit religion is based on the moons, as it determines the birth patterns of the ...
Some theological scholars hold that the two moons orbiting Nirn are representations of the "Cloven Duality" of the Aedric trickster-god Lorkhan, who connived at the creation of the world and was punished for it.
orkhan is the Spirit of Nirn, the god of all mortals. This does not mean all mortals necessarily like him or even know him. Most elves hate him, thinking creation as that act which sundered them from the spirit realm. Most Humans revere him, or aspects of him, as the herald of existence. The creation of the Mortal Plane, the Mundus, Nirn, is a source of mental anguish to all living things; all ...

maybe the soul cairn is the spirit world parallel plane of tamriel/nirn? or maybe those aren't the same 2 moons Or maybe the devs copy-pasted the sky.
I no its just a small thing but I can't help but notice they removed the other moon of nirn.
I've read up and down the Lore of Elder Scrolls and the world of Nirn and I have an understanding of what it generally and currently is.
The Elder Scrolls: Cosmology is a little weird. For example, the two moons of Nirn are actually the physical corpse ("flesh divinity") of a dead god, and other planets are projections of other dimensions owned by the Aedra and Daedra puncturing through a murky region known as the Oblivion in which everything floats.
Nirn is the planet which all other celestial bodies revolve around, save Magnus. It is within the boundaries of the plane of Mundus. Most say it was created by Lorkhan and the Divines played roles in its creation. It is the planet hosting all mortal life, as well as some immortal life. Godly or immortal beings refer to the planet as the Mortal Plane. Many theories of how Lorkhan created Nirn ...

Nirn contains all but five continents: Tamriel, Akavir, Pyandonea, Atmora,Yokuda and Aldmeris (or 'Old Ehlnofey'). Tamriel is the main continent and is the setting of the Elder Scrolls games.
The eight planets correspond to the Eight Divines. They are all present on the Dwarven Orrery, along with the mortal planet, Nirn. What is Nirn? Nirn (Ehnofex [sic] for 'Arena') is a finite ball of matter and magic made from all of the god planets at the beginning of time, when Lorkhan tricked/convinced/forced the gods to create the mortal plane.

Hello everyone. Hope you're doing well. Over six months ago I set myself the endeavor of learning the Lore and Cosmology of The Elder Scrolls universe for the purposes of revising its profiles on the Wiki, which were on a truly awful state. On the very same day, I published this blog in its original state, a poorly organized collection of posts copypasted from various blogs and threads on ...
Masser, also known as Jode, Mara's Tear and Zennji in Ta'agra,[1] is the greater of Nirn's two moons and is acknowledged as one of the attendant spirits of the mortal plane. As such, it is both temporal and subject to the bounds of mortality. As with all astral bodies seen from Nirn, the moons and dominion planets, Masser is said to actually be a separate plane in its own right ...
The stars are equidistant from Nirn, so the size of each star correlates with the size of the tear. For example, Nirn's sun, Magnus, is the largest tear. The light that subsequently emanates from them comes from Atherius, the magic plane that surrounds Oblivion, which provides magic to Nirn and its constellations. Skyrim's Constellations ...

See also: Jone Secunda, also known as Jone[1][2] or Shandar's Sorrow,[3] is the smaller of the two moons in orbit of Nirn, the other being Masser. The moons can easily be seen in the night sky throughout Tamriel. These two moons do not contribute anything to gameplay outside of scenery in The Elder Scrolls games, except for the fact that Secunda becomes the Bloodmoon in The Elder Scrolls III ...
The Divinus Star System is a star system in Mundus, and home to multiple inhabited planets. The Star System is located in Mundus, and is 10.09 light years from The Milky Way Galaxy. Divinus consists of five planets, their moons, and Fotiá, the system's sun, which was created when Magnus fled to Athereus. The planets are as follows: Nirn- Nirn is home to plenty of intelligent life, and is ...
Masser, also known as Jode[1] or Mara's Tear,[2] is the larger of the two moons of Nirn, and is red in color. Among the Khajiit, Masser, as well as Secunda, are revered because their lunar phase helps determine the forms Khajiit take at birth. Lorkhan, "The Missing God", was sundered into two halves during his destruction, becoming both Masser and Secunda.[3] The two moons symbolize his ...

Masser and Secunda ('Jone' and 'Jode' in the Ehlnofex), the moons of Nirn, are the attendant spirits of the mortal plane. They are like the mortal plane in that they are temporal and subject to the bounds of mortality; in fact of this, the moons are dead and died long ago.

Mundus is the plane of existence that encompasses Nirn, its moons, and attendant Aedric planets. It is separated from the Void by The Land Between, and is surrounded by Oblivion and Oblivion is surrounded by Aetherius.[1] For all intents and purposes, Mundus refers to these heavenly bodies alone, as they themselves float in Oblivion. The Mundus is a collaborative construct created by many ...
How many moons orbit Nirn, which of them hold special significance to Khajiit and which dissapeared in Void Nights and why? Okay this is a long question but it's all related to eachother.

The different cultures and races in Skyrim have different opinions of how its two moons were created, with one theory being particularly tragic.
I'm gonna go out on a limb now, a brittle, precarious limb, and try and start a discussion, (which I kinda already did once already which ended poorly..) about the Realities behind Nirn, the Mundus, Oblivion, Aetherius, and the greater cosmos this Universe inhabits.
According to most maps, all the other planets also orbit Nirn albeit, at significantly further distances than Masser and Secunda. This would imply that Nirn has the gravitational influence of a star with 9-10 planets orbiting around it while it also orbits an actual star itself.

These do orbit Nirn, traveling on set courses through the void of Oblivion. Each of these is also infinite, they appear spherical due to the lack of mortal minds ability to process an infinite plane.
We would like to show you a description here but the site won't allow us.
The two moons, known as Masser and Secunda, are the natural satellites to Nirn. One month can be referred to as a 'moon' or a 'moon's turn'.

For the dog in Online, see Lorkhan (Dog). Lorkhan, also known as Doom Drum,[2][3] is the elven name for the Missing God,[2][3] the deity most directly associated with the existence of Mundus,[3] and is the god of all mortals.[4] According to legend, Lorkhan died long ago, giving his life for convincing the Aedra to create Mundus. His divine spark fell to Nirn as a shooting star "to impregnate ...

If Nirn accepted Lorkhan as it's brain , the moons would probably fall into it. The Result would have been a genocide. Without the support of their followers the aedra would have been weakened strongly. Chim: I would define chim as a condition in which you are able to convince mundus for a short amount of time that you are the missing brain.
Nirn: The core of Mundus, it's the closest thing to a normal planet that we're aware of but still has some metaphysical elements (the Crystal Tower exists in all planes of Aurbis concurrently and the base of White-Gold Tower is adjacent to all time-space in Aedric creation.
