Happy Mayhem Monday. Okay, so this isn't my best work, but hopefully you are slightly amused. Mkay was a good sport to make this pose. The eagle didn't really care one way or the other. He just wanted a chicken bit. The Southern California shot was from a few years ago. I thought masking birds was hard, but hair is much more difficult. The scale is about right when you consider golden eagles have a wingspan in excess of 6 feet. So even though this is a photographic abomination, it was good learning experience. I'll need to make more day time beach shots next time I'm in California.

Three light set up. Impact 5ft reflective umbrella (half closed) for main. Bare flashes to each side at 90 degrees, one with purple gel, one with red gel for rim lights. Canon speedlites.

Where are you from? Where are you based now and do you travel for shoots?
I’m originally from Louisiana, but I’m now based in Austin, TX. I travel 2-3 times a month for shoots in different cities across the US.
Who or what inspired you to become a model?
I became fascinated with modeling at a young age when I took my first set of pictures at Glamour Shots. As I grew up I saw women in fashion magazines and thought I don’t look like them, I could never do that. It wasn’t until I saw Marilyn Monroe’s pinup shoot for Playboy in a Time Magazine article that I decided I could give this type of modeling a shot.

How and when did you start modeling?
I started modeling three years ago after college. To pay for college I worked online as a cam girl and met a Russian chick who introduced me to Model Mayhem. I’ve been doing it full-time ever since.
What type of modeling do you enjoy most?
I enjoy glamour modeling the most, it’s going out of style, but it’s classic.
What do you look for when deciding to work with a photographer?
When I’m deciding to work a photographer the first thing I look for is references, if they tag models in the photos, and how long their credits list is. All of those convey that the photographer is safe, professional, and an upfront person.
Which models or other artists currently inspire you?
I’m inspired by Brooke Shaden, and Lindsay Adler, they have completely different styles but there compositions and posing are iconic. I look up to them as both a model and photographer.
My dream shoot would be to shoot for Playboy and become a Centerfold just like Marilyn Monroe. I’ve been a Penthouse Pet and a Hustler Honey, the last one I need is Playboy.
How important is social media in your success?
Social media is crucial to finding work, checking references, and promoting your brand. You can post countless behind the scenes shots, professional shots, and selfies just to further illustrate that you are a real person, and what your doing is a real job.
What else do you like to do outside of modeling?
Outside of modeling, I’m a photographer, longboarder, dog lover, and traveler.

What’s the best career advice you can give to new models
The best advice I can give is stay safe. You must check references, look into who these people are shooting, and scout the locations beforehand. As one of my favorite podcasts would say, “stay safe, don’t get murdered.”
