MIYA Marcano's body was found with tape around her hands and feet and covering her mouth, her family's attorney revealed on Wednesday as they await the autopsy.
The body of the 19-year-old student was found in a wooded area near an apartment complex in central Florida on Saturday after a week-long search.
No details were released about how the body was found.
Information began to emerge on Tuesday, however, as the family spoke out about their heartbreak.
“What I can tell you is that this guy had tape around Miya’s wrists, tape around her feet, had tape on her mouth,” attorney Daryl Washington told WLPG .
“When you talk about it, you really get frustrated.”
Authorities confirmed on Tuesday that the body found near Tymber Skan Condominiums at the weekend was Miya.
Washington said the official identification had taken a few days because of the condition of her body, according to Local10 .
The cause and manner of her death have still not been released pending full autopsy results.
Her family reported Miya missing from her Orlando apartment on September 26 after she failed to catch her flight to visit them in Tampa the night before.

They revealed in a press release on Tuesday that they immediately knew "something was wrong" and requested a welfare check.
Cops investigating her disappearance found the entrance to her home blocked off with a mini-fridge and blood on her pillow.
The window in her room was tampered with and deputies determined someone had entered that way.
The suspect in her death, Armando Caballero , was found dead a day later.
Authorities say he hung himself inside the garage of an apartment complex close to the building where Miya lived.
He was employed as a maintenance worker in the complex where she lived and worked and her family has claimed they were aware he was "obsessed" with her.
Miya's aunt recalled her chilling encounter with Caballero on the day before he reportedly killed himself as he approached them when they came looking for her.
"The family questioned Caballero and immediately knew he had something to do with their daughter’s disappearance," a press release stated.
"They reported to the deputy who was now on scene that a key fob dropped out of Caballero’s lap as he got out of the car, he had Miya’s blanket and a black backpack in his car and the family caught him in several lies regarding his encounters with Miya.
"The recently released video shows the deputy politely allowing Caballero to get in his car and leave."
Cabellero, 27, reportedly accessed Miya's unit in the Arden Villa apartments with a master key before she vanished.
Her family says it is now exploring its legal options as they slam the complex's management.
They revealed it was "very disappointing" not to hear from management after Miya's death.
“Sad management couldn’t have got a hold of this much sooner,” Washington said, claiming that Caballero had been accused of incidents in which he harassed women.
After Miya went missing, another woman accused him of throwing a weight through her window after she turned him down for a date.
“This was a vibrant young lady who was living her life,” Washington added.
“And her life was taken away from her as a result of the negligence of this apartment complex.”
He exclusively told The Sun on Wednesday that the family is "completely crushed."
"Obviously the family is still very hurt and crushed by the news of M i ya’s death . Miya was the glue that held the entire family together," Washington said.
"What makes this so very difficult to accept is that Miya's death was totally preventable. That’s what makes it very hard. She was a vibrant young lady trying to pursue her dreams."
Miya's family has also claimed that her disappearance was not taken seriously when it was first reported.
"The family didn’t hear back with any information about what the deputy intended to do," Washington said.
They claim that deputies refused to take fingerprints lifted from Marcano's window by a security guard and told them "this isn't a high-priority case."
"The family indicated that the way they were treated by the office manager was disheartening, and they felt like she was irritated with their request for help," the release stated.
"What’s more disappointing is that the deputy told the family that if they had not heard from their daughter by Tuesday, they would come out and view the cameras and read the key fob."
The family now working to create Miya's Law to better protect tenants.
