Seven members of the gang selling the Russian sex slaves to oil-rich Bahrain have been jailed after an 18-year-old student managed to evade her pimps and phone her parents who alerted police.
The sinister people smuggling ring included three women - among them a mother and daughter aged 44 and 27, say police.
Gang leader Olga Goryachikh, 43, was jailed for six years, a sentence reduced from 15 years because she unmasked half a dozen accomplices.
Not all the gang members were identified or detained but one, Lyubov Fedorkova, 25, dressed in red and with a face mask in court, was sentenced for three and a half years.
Two female members of the gang were deported from Bahrain to face trial in Russia.
The ruthless syndicate recruited women aged 18 to 30 in impoverished Russian villages and provincial cities, sending them to Muslim countries in the Persian Gulf where they were "forced to work as prostitutes".
They were convicted of conning 23 women to travel, earning £12,500 for each one forced into sexual slavery.
The women were told they were going to respectable jobs in bars and restaurants in Bahrain and other Middle East countries.
But when they arrived their passports were seized, they were kept under guard, and threatened with beatings to force them to have sex with Arab clients, it is reported.
In her diary, Goryachikh reportedly described her victims as “freight carriages”.
Police seized £61,000 in US dollar cash and guns as well as evidence that dozens of women had been trafficked for sex in recent raids in Perm region and the Udmurtia republic, it is reported.
Irina Volk, spokeswoman for the Russian Interior Ministry, said: "Members of the criminal gang recruited women in Udmurtia republic and Perm region, offering them jobs abroad with good pay.
"The gangsters sorted all the paperwork, bought tickets and sent their victims to the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain.
"Having arrived there, the girls were met by their accomplices who threatened them with physical violence and forced them to work as prostitutes."
Senior investigator Sergei Petrashov said: "Some women were attracted by an offer of big money.”
A few “were told the truth about their future occupation, but in the majority of cases the women had very little idea of the job.
“The girls were clearly cheated and as good as kidnapped.”
Another police source said they were “sex slaves” with no means to escape.
In Bahrain they were made to live in brothels "in a chain of secret hotels", according to reports.
"They were fed and their basic hygiene needs were met. But there were also cases of violence," he said.
The Russian authorities were alerted after two students, aged 19 and 23, managed to return to Russia after 18 months of "rapes" when they were forced to have sex with Arab men, it is claimed.
In the Gulf, the women were reportedly under close guard and only allowed to phone home in front of their "master".
But an 18-year-old from Udmurtia region in Russia managed to call her family from Bahrain when she was not overheard.
She told the truth to her parents about her life as a "sex slave" and they immediately went to Russian police.
The other convicted gang members were named in a court statement only by their family names Arbuzov, Shilyaeva, Sibiryakov, Tatarkin, and Strelnikov .
They were jailed to periods from three to five-and-a-half years.

A WOMAN has been caught stomping on a man, kicking him until he is unconscious, breaking the teenager's jaw outside a nightclub in the sickening attack.
Megan Allen, 22, chased Jay Bennett into the street - attacking the 19-year-old as he tripped and fell on the street in an assault described as "brutal and cowardly".
Allen and friend Liam Nagle, 25, were joined by two other men who stomped on the teen until he was senseless outside a nightclub in Swansea city centre in the 5am attack in June last year.
Vicious Allen had been involved in a fight at the Oxygen nightclub, later chasing Jay.
The attacker, of Islington, London and her friend Nagle, of Bedford, Bedfordshire, pleaded guilty to assault in the Swansea Crown Court.
Both were jailed for 36 weeks for the attack.
But the family of Jay has since spoken out, slamming the sentence.
Victim Jay's mother, Melanie Penk, said: "The girl stamped and stamped on his head."
Slamming the sentence, Penk said: "The whole thing is a shambles - I feel just total outrage. The sentencing has upset my son as he feels it was a waste of time to go to court in the first place.
"I am disappointed about the way we have been let down by the system. I have written a complaint to the CPS."
The support worker said her son had been so badly beaten that he was forced to take a month off work.
She said: "We weren't asked whether we wanted to do it and haven't been kept in the loop over what's happening.
"This outcome, I can't come to terms with it - they could be out in 18 weeks.
"People are so outraged at this. There is a lot of strong feeling about this."
She said the video evidence showed how brutal the attack had been.
Judge Paul Thomas QC said: "This was a brutal and cowardly attack.
"This man was running away when he tripped. He was not a threat to anyone."

A 34-year-old Serbian woman has been arrested on suspicion of murdering and dismembering her 67-year-old 'sex slave'.
Marina Becanovic allegedly beat Petar Petrovic to death in Guncati, in the suburbs of Belgrade on January 10, after abusing him for the last three years.
After killing the 67-year-old, she cut off his genitals and threw them on a stove, then wrote a message to his family saying she was 'finished with him.'

The authorities say Petrovic was tied up and tortured - burned with cigarettes and slashed with a blade - before he was beaten to death.
Becanovic is then said to have hacked his body with an axe before slicing off his genitals and throwing them into the burning stove.
Neighbours say Becanovic had kept the besotted man - 33 years her senior - as her slave, saying the large woman threw him around.
Petar Petrovic, 67, had been kept at her home for three years, doing chores and providing his abusive lover with cash
A neighbour said: 'That woman was constantly abusing and torturing him. She beat him, kicked him, stabbed him with a knife. She treated him as her slave.'
She said the dead man had been obsessed by her, adding: 'He went to the police a few times to report her, but he always went back to her.
'Marina was so brutal that once she lifted Petar in her arms, because she is bigger than him, and threw him onto the ground.'
A homeless man said to be Becanovic's drinking partner - likely another lover - was reportedly a witness to the murder which allegedly occurred after the victim refused to give the suspect money.
The sex slave was forced to clean around the house and garden, as well as accept other men passing through who Becanovic took as lovers, the Kurir reported.

Becanovic reportedly called her father who told her to get the police when he saw the bloody Petrovic
After asking her father to help her cover the crime he reported the case to the police and Becanovic was arrested.
He told the Belgrade tabloid that his daughter had admitted to killing Petrovic with a wooden pole and that there was plenty of brandy and beer in the blood spattered bungalow.
An autopsy confirmed that the victim had suffered a broken rib which pierced his lung.
It is unclear whether the investigation is complete or if the suspect has been charged.
