Monika Fourie demanded her South African husband leave the room so she could interrogate his young lover Hannah Stokes before attacking her with searing hot water, Plymouth Crown Court heard
A YOUNG mistress who was doused in boiling water by the scorned wife of her Royal Marine lover was "hunted down" and attacked, a court heard today.
Hannah Stokes, 24, said she "did not deserve" the pain she suffered from severe burns after she was allegedly assaulted by 34-year-old Monika Fourie.
Mrs Fourie is accused of lashing out with the searing hot water after pretending to make a cup of tea.
She walked in on her husband Wouter with his lover as they sat on the sofa in her marital home in Plymouth, Devon.
Giving evidence at Plymouth Crown Court, Ms Stokes fought back tears as she said she would have to live with the consequences of her affair for the rest of her life.
She said: "I saw someone full of rage. She was hunting me down. I know we both did something wrong in this situation and the reality is that I had an affair.
"But now I am out of the shock, I know I did not deserve what I got.
"I would have to be sick to exaggerate the hell I have been through.
"I have to live with this every day for the rest of my life with what she did. She had snapped as I was in her house."
Ms Stokes, 24, had started an affair with Mrs Fourie's husband just weeks before the alleged assault in October 2016.
She suffered "terrible burns" from the hot water — which was boiled when "eerily calm" Mrs Fourie pretended to make a cup of tea, Plymouth Crown Court heard.
Wouter Fourie was upstairs with his daughter after being told to leave the room so his wife could interrogate his mistress, according to prosecutors.
Also giving his testimony today, South African Mr Fourie said his marriage had hit the rocks after he suffered injuries from being blown up twice by IEDs in Afghanistan in 2013.
He said he met Ms Stokes four months before the alleged attack and his travelling with work put further stress on his relationship with his Polish-born wife.
Describing the alleged attack, he told jurors: "As I went upstairs I heard Hannah screaming. She was shouting 'help, help, please help.'
"I ran downstairs and I could see Monika holding Hannah by her hair and bending down.
"I saw Monika grab a kettle and she had rage in her face like she wanted to hurt Hannah very badly.
"She poured hot boiling water on Hannah's head. I saw the steam. Hannah was in agony."
Fourie, 34, has denied causing grievous bodily harm with intent in October 2015 — but has admitted the alternative charge of causing GBH without intent.
Jurors were told Ms Stokes suffered burns to her chest, neck and back and had undergone surgery for a perforated eardrum.
Mrs Fourie had been going through marital problems with her husband before the affair began in September 2015.
Mr Fourie had come clean about his new relationship and believed his marriage to Monika was over.
He said: "I had decided to end my marriage as I was not happy anymore.
"I told her 'I am leaving you' and she started blaming herself. She said she was still going to fight for me but I told her I had an affair."
After allegedly scalding her victim, she then chased her out of the house while pulling her hair, jurors heard.
Mrs Fourie, who suffers from anxiety and depression, has argued she has no memory of the events of that night, the prosecution said.

So this is a really f'ed up story and I'd appreciate some input.
I was working as an intern somewhere and I met someone, let's call her Susie. Susie is getting married to a woman in 3 months. We become friends, then we became really good friends and we started hanging out outside of work. I didn't really think of her in a gay way because I knew she was very unavailable. She's been with her fiancee for 10 years and she's the only girl she's been with, she was with guys before that. I considered her a really great friend and I don't have many at the moment. I felt very safe with her. Cut to about a month ago when a conversation about Orange is the New Black got kind of flirtatious and we started sexting. It kind of escalated and we've slept together.
Honestly, I know I'm falling in love with her. I've told her this is a bad idea. I've told her I don't want her to get married. She says that she isn't leaving her fiancee for me, she doesn't want to hurt her, but that she has feelings for me and is mourning the "what if." She said if it was meant to be I would have met her 10 years ago.
I am just really confused. I don't really feel too bad about being a "mistress." I know her fiancee and she is very nice, but I am not in a relationship. I know that's crap logic, but it's not my responsibility to babysit those who are. All I know is I have feelings for her and I want to be with her and she knows that. She says we are each others' "person." We're best friends. But she also wants to fuck me. I just want to be with her. I think it's fun right now but when she gets married in 3 months I know it's gonna kill me, but I am kind of holding on for the 1% chance that something will happen and they'll break up. I just want her to be happy, and she told me that in general she is, but I don't see how you can cheat after 10 years right before your wedding if you're happy... I am just kind of stuck. I know I should get out sooner than later but I've never had feelings for anyone like this before and I just don't want to leave. I am also kind of hurt because she was my friend and knows how I think and my relationship past, so she must know how I really feel about her and she is still letting this continue. This just sucks. She always says she is "greedy," and she is. She gets both of us and I get nothing. She tells me all the time that it can stop whenever I say so and she will understand. But I still don't get why she is letting it happen.

So here's the thing...Susie is coming off like a generic sleezeball guy. Imagine Susie is Freddie, a [31/M] about to get married (and, you just happen to be into dudes). How would you feel about that relationship? Does the fact that Susie is gay, and a woman, make the situation any different? I don't think it does, and I don't think you do either - you did describe yourself as the mistress after all.
Were I in your shoes, I'd feel used. I'd feel like someone is taking advantage of my feelings for them, and particularly taking advantage of those feelings to have access to me physically, without the drawback of having to make a commitment to me.
I wouldn't hold onto the 1%. If Susie (or Freddie) can do this to their fiancee, then it shows you the amount of regard they have for that person they've been seeing for 10 years. So imagine how much regard they have for you - whom they've known for only a short time.
Do yourself a favor, end it now before you get hurt worse. You can find a better person out there for yourself.

I hope she does leave her fiancé for you. That way you she can betray you the same way. Although, I don't even know why you'd want to be in a relationship with such a cold hearted bitch.
The truth is, she doesn't care for you at all. She's pretty forward about that. She's using you and she's using her fiancé. If you have any shred of decency or self-respect, you'd ditch this piece of crap and move on with your life. Hopefully, you'll grow up a little in the process. Also, since she's sleeping with both of you, you should get tested for STDs. Hopefully the innocent fiancé doesn't catch something because you guys were fooling around behind her back.
Not to sound like a douche but you sound nearly as sleazy as your gf. She's admitted to using you as an escape until she sees fit. If you had a shred of self respect you would get out immediately. The heart wants what it wants but the person behaves how they behave and you can leave/not fuck a taken person with a simple dose of morality or self control. I'd love to hear you told her "nice person" wife-to-be that you knowingly and repeatedly fucked her fiancee and that you're sorry but since you aren't sorry maybe just send her an fyi and I don't know, stop fucking her betrothed.
