Filmmaker Bree Mills elaborates on her rather silly Dystopia (introduced in "The Turning") with "Missing", a heavily padded (as usual) fantasy saved only by the superstar Riley Reid in a performance that glues it all together. She even has Riley talking to herself a lot to keep things (and plot) moving, instead of the usual Cinematic technique of hiring a sidekick. Even Roy Rogers had Dale and Gabby to carry the story back in the B Western heyday.

Fans of the websites Bree and her partner Alan run will know the backstory, which the team of Mills and Stills undoubtedly hope will gain currency like "Game of Thrones". Reid is an investigative reporter who was disgraced during the Lesbian Apocalypse, where a virus infecting women started a pandemic but seems to have been successfully controlled a la Ebola. Kendra James, whose over-the-top Southern-fried villainess hews to the auteurs' fondness for Camp (I haven't decided if it's high or low), runs A.W.A.L.: Assn. of Women Against Lesbians, which ruined Riley but now hires her to investigate suspicious femme missing person cases. Fear is that Mantis, a lesbian terrorist organization, is kidnapping the girls.

Reid's adventures last nearly 4 hours, as she episodically humps a lot of women, or takes a breather while other attractive actresses hump each other. The so-called mystery of this "crime story" lacks suspense because Kendra is so obviously the culprit. Bree's porno skills are not the issue, but her writing is poor as always, in this case failing to introduce other suspects or red herrings, failing Mystery Writing 101.

But Bree does write in multiple acting roles (non-sex of course) for herself, as Mantis comes to Reid's rescue in the nick of time. Finale includes plenty of cameos by actresses like Cherie DeVille from other episodes in the mythos ("Project Pandora") and an open-ending as this saga will likely go on as long as Canadian funding keeps coming Mills & Stills' way.

Reid is hot, but some of the other superstars are not, particularly August Ames who appropriately walks blankly (and nude) through a zombie-slave type role - dangerously close to typecasting. Some of the casting is absurd, as in Allie Haze as Dr. Allie Haze the shrink - quite a stretch for the young beauty. Too bad she opted for sweat equity as a porn actress instead of heading for med school back when.

Time for my advice to Ms. Mills. Creating a Tolkien or "Game of Thrones" or even Marvel universe is a lofty goal, and you'd better put more meat on those thematic bones beyond the John Waters-level gag of a world beset by lesbian paranoia and fear & loathing. It's unfunny and you've already run it into the ground.
