Baby looks at me as though I’ve poisoned him every time I give him his iron drops.
I'm taking my 6 month old to a restaurant today. Please give me all of the tips. I'm so nervous!
watching tv/reading/scrolling through reddit while bf?
I bet a lot of you can relate to this.. (at least I hope). Nursery: Before I had my baby vs. After I had my baby
Going through the same with my 7mo girl! For a while I had luck with just singing and making goofy faces at her — she’d open her mouth in a wide grin and I’d squirt some in. Today and yesterday she didn’t fall for it and I had to squish her cheeks to get the vitamins in her. She was not happy about it. I keep wondering if I’m betraying her trust.
But it only lasts a minute and she quickly forgets about it and moves on. I can’t wait for her to start eating enough of her solids to forego the supplements.
We’ve been taking baby out since three weeks! She’ll be 7 months in a couple days. The biggest things I’ve learned:
It’s better to take turns holding baby until the food comes, then put her in the high chair. If she’s there from the start she’ll get fed up with it at the most inconvenient time.
Toys that you can fasten directly onto baby or the high chair are a must! Otherwise they’ll end up on the floor and then they’re down a toy until you can sanitize it.
If you have new toys, bring those. Baby is gonna be most interested in all things on table and would rather play with a fork than a toy she’s seen a hundred times, so new toys help mitigate that. Sometimes we can keep her happy with something as simple as a napkin.
Our baby is quickly becoming mobile and I’m going to baby proof the living room today so she has a safe space to explore, but for those who already have full crawlers and/or walkers, what baby proofing did you find most helpful or necessary?
I make egg salad! Also French toast. I also make this omelette and cut into strips. It’s a little unconventional, but my kids LOVE IT.
Egg salad is a great idea! I’ve been doing an omelette cut into strips (similar to your link but without the bananas and peanut butter) but I don’t think my baby is ready for that. She just squished them and throws them in the floor lol.
I’ll definitely be trying the egg salad! What do you add to it to make it creamy?
A little Mayo. But you could probably do Greek yogurt.
I guess mayo is just more eggs lol so it makes sense that it’d be fine. Do you add any seasoning?
Girl, what have you been doing?? I’m always on the phone or watching tv while baby is nursing. Mostly just my phone now that she’s older and notices the tv, but before 4/5 months I binged alllll the streaming services.
Lol you should see ours. It’s basically a storage room/closet at this point. 😂
Way to go on recognizing the signs! My baby will be 7m in three days and I swear she doesn’t have a poop face. Sometimes I’ll hear it happening but her expression won’t change. Completely unfazed.
Rock star moment for sure. No way I would’ve caught it!
My bottle refusing ebf baby took to the ezpz straw cup really well at 5 months but still wouldn’t drink more than an ounce or so at once. We tried two different sippy cups and she didn’t scream at them like she did the bottle but she also didn’t care for them. Definitely had the most luck with the straw cup.
Then randomly after 6m she started accepting the bottle. I tried again on a whim and now she loves it. I have no idea what changed and tbh it makes me feel a little crazy lol. Like did I just imagine the past four months of bottle refusal??
How did you teach her to drink from straw? My baby just chews on it like she does with the bottle haha
I didn’t really teach her I just gave it to her and let her figure it out. She chewed on it for a few minutes the first time and then she suckled and worked it out. After that first time she always knew to suck.
The ezpz straw we use has texture on it that’s supposed to encourage mouth rounding so maybe that’s why she picked it up so well.
