A heart-warming picture has emerged online showing a young beauty queen returning to her hometown in Thailand to say thank you in the most modest way to the woman who raised her.
Wearing her glittering crown, silk sash and heels,17-year-old Khanittha 'Mint' Phasaeng - who won the title of Miss Uncensored News Thailand 2015 last month - knelt before her mother in front of filthy rubbish bins to thank her for all she has done, reports  The People's Daily Online .
The touching moment has captured many people's hearts as Mint's mother who raised her alone, makes a living by collecting and recycling trash.
Touching moment: Mint - wearing her crown, sash and heels - kneels before her mother in front of filthy rubbish bins to say thank you for raising her
Wearing plain clothes, Mint helps helps her mother sort through the the rubbish (left) The crown and sash doesn't bother her as she gets stuck into hard work at home
For many Asian's the highest form of respect is to kneel, no matter what the situation.
And according to DramaFever News Mint never felt ashamed: 'What I have today is because of my mother. She and I make a living by doing honest work, so there is no reason why I should feel inferior.'
She maintains and optimistic outlook on life, continuing to help her family by working on many menial jobs, and assisting her mother when collecting and recycling rubbish.
By chance, Mint was recommended to participate in a beauty contest in Thailand. She never imagined winning the competition because of her upbringing.
The tall beauty queen at her home in Thailand stands proudly wearing her silk sash and crown
'When the referee announced the winner it felt like a dream. I thought how can an ordinary girl like me be a beauty queen.
'All I have accomplished today is because of my mother's hard work.'
Miss Uncensored News Thailand 2015 was held on September 25, it is open to both women and transgenders.
The family grew up in complete poverty, so much so they could not afford to send the beauty queen to college after she graduated from high school.
According to the Bangkok Post  Mint's mother separated from her father when she was young, but she has since remarried.
After the win Mint has gained advertising, film and television work which she hopes will improve the situation at home. But, she said: 'The family will continue to be scavengers. My mother will still go and sort garbage and is not willing to let me help.'
It is unclear where in Thailand her family home is, but Mint's story has been widely praised and circulated across the country.
The People's Daily Online reports that many people from impoverished backgrounds are saying she is not only beautiful but strong and dutiful, as she continues to help her mother sort rubbish.
Proud moment: Mint hugs her mother who she thanked by kneeling before her in the most touching way

The title is a bit misleading. She is Miss Uncensored News Thailand 2015, which is a much smaller beauty competition than the two more prestigious Miss Thailand Universe or Miss Thailand World competition. Still a very touching story!
Wait, is it her "hole life" or her "whole life". It makes a dif.
I think you're missing the point!... recognition received and respect shown demonstrate a humility which is somehow appealling.
I had to upvote this whore how misleading the title is hahah
What a moment. Not many kids recognize the sacrifices their parents make on their behalf.
I remember the point in my life where it hit me, just how much mine have sacrificed their happiness to bring me and my brothers up without any guarantee it'll pay off for them. Since then I've made a mental note of 'paying them back' in my life. They tell me not to worry but I feel like I couldn't live with myself if I didn't give a little back for everything they've done. Not talking exclusively money, but time and dedication.
Reminds me of The Lanyard by Billy Collins.
What a joke.Yes the parents that live and sacrifice even their bones and livers for you you ,they should be treated like gods. But when they don't understand your feelings, treat you like a kid, hate your friends and future/jobs/whatever is good for you, don't respect your hobbies or interests as a whole, saying that is a loss of money and time, even insulting me for having them, than you need to leave them for good.
Parents inherited 600k, stopped working, lived to poverty standards, liquidated university funds, divorced. One followed their dreams, the other looked after the kids, by doing things like marrying a man that doesn't want to be a father figure to be the new father figure. This was still an improvement over the existing father figure.
There were some sacrifices, but mostly their anxiety & fears were stuff I had to resolve on their behalf.
I mean.. this is heavy. I should be a better person.
I think it's fair to assume OP isn't a native English speaker. At least it was vaguely legible.
My stupid head can’t stop inventing darker and darker meanings based on this typo. It started with “well, which hole’s life?”
