As the end of the trip was approaching, Adrienne was astounded by the fact that nearly six months of unpaid leave was coming to an end soon. She had a couple more weeks to go before returning to Germany, but she never expected to be contacted before she returned home. If anything, it would only happen if there was a big crisis at work.
