Over the last several years, YouTube has become an extremely popular method for people to express themselves. Users with niche interests often create content for a community of fans that is sometimes millions strong. For viewers who are interested in Japan or Japanese culture, Miss Hannah Minx was one of the most popular YouTube stars. Her Japanese language videos garnered millions of views, but she disappeared suddenly several years ago. So what happened to Hannah Minx, and where is she now?
Hannah Wagner, AKA Hannah Minx, was born in Lexington Kentucky on October 31,1988. While she didn’t spend her childhood in the entertainment business, she eventually realized that she wanted to bring a smile to people’s faces. When she was studying abroad at Sophia University in Japan, she had the idea to make educational Japanese language videos, which she calls JWOWs (Japanese Word of the Week).
Hannah joined YouTube in 2008 and uploaded her first video in March, 2009. She became an overnight success. Her MissHannahMinx YouTube channel’s popularity skyrocketed; her most watched video has over 10 million views. Her subscribers were entertained by weekly JWOWs, as well as other content featuring Hannah’s signature cute, Japanese style.
Besides working on YouTube, Hannah also made several films. In 2012, she appeared in The Devil’s Carnival , a horror movie about a hellish carnival. She also worked on the film Slay Belles , which is set to come out Christmas 2016.
However, in spite of her success, Hannah Minx disappeared in 2013. Her last video was filmed on August 9th of that year, and she hasn’t really been seen or heard from since. Her social media pages have been silent, and her YouTube channel still has no new videos. There has been a great deal of speculation about what happened to Hannah.
Some fans have suggested that she got pregnant, and there was even some speculation that she had died. Because of the lack of reliable information we have about Hannah’s personal life, it is difficult to distinguish between what is true and what is false.
Amidst all the rumors about Hannah’s disappearance, one Reddit user claims to have the answers. This person is allegedly a long time fan of Hannah’s. Because they watched Hannah’s videos early in her career when she was adding fans to her personal Facebook page, this person has insider access to her personal life.
In a post from a year ago, the u/rosietherose states that Hannah’s personal facebook page confirms that she is married with children. Her alleged husband is Steve Fox Osterhagen, and her Facebook update from May of 2014 is evidence that this may be true.
So why did Hannah quit YouTube? This user claims that because Hannah’s manager owned the rights to the “HannahMinx” trademark, Hannah was no longer the owner of her own content. Instead of fighting to get her channel back, Hannah Minx has chosen to embrace her new life as a wife and mother, and leave her persona behind.
It is unclear whether u/rosietherose’s post is genuine, but the evidence seems to support their claims. Either way, it seems clear that we shouldn’t be expecting more content from Hannah Minx any time soon.
If you’re interested, I know exactly why she disappeared in 2013. It’s not pretty. Email me at jessesmithbear@yahoo if you’d like.
Because Jesse is lying and has no idea.
Tell us here or by other media, email you looks kinda suspicious.
I am 100% sure that she isnt married. Her supossed husband is not married. Hannah is happy, shes living in philladelphia. On whitepages you can find some information about her.
1. She is not married, never was, and the name osterhagen means “other half” in german, and was a troll
2. The baby photo was not her child
3. There was no wedding, there is no wedding pictures that exist, hence it did not happen.
4. Hellz Bellz was film prior to her 2013 dissappearance.
5. no new pictures of her have been released, including the current twitter avatar, we can see, this is clearly an old pic.
6. People who commented about the wedding, never attended it.
7. Dead people have facebook accounts too! The thing about facebook is, once you know someones password, you can impersonate them very easily.
8. She had millions of followers, was a very social-media savvy person, and updated hers on a daily basis, then.. nothing.
anything else I didnt cover here? Oh ya shall I mention again, the twitter account is an obvious troll. There is no real evidence of her existence. The only acceptable evidence, would be a new video of her, or one of her family members speaking about her in 2016.
please support the cause to find the truth about Ms.Wagner!
I have created a FB group called “Finding Hannah Minx by hiring a Private Investigator” please join to support, and find the truth!
Just thought I’d let you know, she appears on a YouTuber’s channel named “onision” very regularly in his skits.
that is annah minx, a personator and fan. Clearly not her.
You, sir, are a very sad man. Just forget her and live life.
really? actually as a fan, in which she has millions of, I just care. If shes happy somewhere im happy. I think we all just need a little closure thats all. A confirmation, from her, just something. to be just shut off, is a very difficult thing to accept, wouldnt you agree?
“as a fan, in which she has millions of”
You seriously need to learn basic writing skills.
“to be just shut off, is a very difficult thing to accept”
And you also need therapy, stalker.
The funniest thing about this whole article and all the other comments in here, is that they totally ignore the 900 lb gorilla in the room. Okay. I’ll say it.
BOOBS.
Her entire rise to stardom on YouTube, and the only reason anyone knows anything about her or watchers her, is because of her BOOBS. She made YouTube videos to highlight them and only them.
It cracks me up that the entire article talks about her “rise to stardom”, and her “Japanese Language” videos. LOL! Give me a break. They are boob videos. Nothing more.
Can’t tell if all that stuff is true or not. But from what I looked up it seems the guy she married is rich. She got herself knocked up real fast just to make sure she will still be able to get that money if they get divorced. She is now living on his dime. It’s really that simple. I don’t believe any of this other BS.

Miss Hannah Minx, also known as Mistress Hannah Jinx, is a former YouTube sensation known for her Kawaii anime aesthetic and Japanese courses. She presented instructional films about Japanese culture and language. However, amidst her success, Hannah disappeared off the face of the internet without a trace, leaving fans confused about what happened to her.
Hannah was born on October 31, 1988, in Lexington, Kentucky, under the legal name Hannah Wagner. Not much is known of her personal life, but it is a fact that she wanted to bring a smile to people’s faces.
She had the idea of making Japanese language tutorials and would later accomplish this goal after studying abroad at Sophia University in Japan.
In July 2008, she chose YouTube to be the medium of her educational videos, when the platform was still in its early stages. And this is how the MissHannahMinx channel started.
In March of 2009, she released her first video titled, “Japanese Lesson – Introductions.” It became an instant hit, so Hannah continued to post content regularly.
Her channel’s fame has surged, with over 10 million views on her most popular video. She was known for teaching Japanese Words of the Week (JWOWs) and Japanese Phrases of the Week (JPOWs).
She made videos every week from 2009 to 2014 that followers gravitated towards. Her content was witty, informative, and entertaining. This helped her gain almost 600,000 subscribers in total.
Hannah made a number of films in addition to working on YouTube. She starred in The Devil’s Carnival in 2012. She also collaborated on the film Slay Belles. After the project was finished, however, Hannah seemed to vanish totally from the internet.
The aspiring actress shot her last YouTube video on August 9, 2013. She hasn’t been seen or heard from since then. Her social media accounts have been quiet, and her old videos are not available anymore.
Even to this day, there are no explanations given by Hannah in regards to this happening. Fans and friends were concerned. The director of one of her films even hired a private investigator to find out what happened.
There has been a lot of discussion about Hannah’s decision to leave and why she would have done so. There are a lot of rumors floating around the web, but there is one Reddit user who seems to make a believable case.
This person is said to be a long-time follower of Hannah’s work. Someone who had a sneak peek of Hannah’s videos early in her profession when she was accepting fans to her personal Facebook page has insider knowledge of her daily life.
According to the Reddit user, Hannah is now married to Steve Fox Osterhagen with children. Furthermore, one reason why the channel is empty may be because of management issues. Thus, it’s reasonable to conclude that we can’t expect Hannah Minx to come back any time soon.
