Kim Min-seok (23, Busan Swimming Federation) advanced to the semifinals for the first time as a Korean athlete in the men's 200m individual medley at the World Aquatics Championships.

Kim Min-seok, who placed 6th in his group and 16th overall, barely won a ticket to the semifinals, which is given to the top 16 players in the preliminary round.

Kim Min-seok, who was eliminated from the preliminaries after finishing 29th at the 2019 Gwangju Games, 20th at the 2022 Budapest Games, and 25th at the Fukuoka Games last year, entered the semifinals of the World Championships for the first time.

Minseok Kim will attempt to advance to the finals in the semifinals, which will take place early in the morning on the 15th. He must finish in the top eight to advance to the finals.

Park Soo-jin (25, Gyeongbuk Provincial Office) passed the World Championship preliminaries for the first time in five years.

Park Soo-jin recorded a time of 2 minutes 10.28 seconds in the second group of the women's 200m butterfly preliminaries. She placed second in her group and sixth overall, earning her a ticket to the semifinals.

At the 2019 Gwangju World Championships, she placed 17th in the preliminaries and then dramatically advanced to the semifinals when one of her top players withdrew. This time, Park Soo-jin succeeded in advancing to the semifinals solely on her own ability.

Park Soo-jin aims to advance to the finals in the semifinals, which will be held in the early morning of the 15th.

The best performance by a Korean athlete in the women's 200m butterfly at the World Championships is Ahn Se-hyun's 4th place at the 2017 Budapest Games.

Kim Seung-won (14, currently forming Gyeonggi Province), the youngest member of the Korean team at this competition, was unable to advance to the semifinals by finishing in 23rd place out of 55 athletes in the women's 50m backstroke preliminaries with a time of 28.96 seconds. 토토
