Minetest 5.5.0 Is Out, Forked Their Very Own Rendering Engine With IrrlichtMT

Minetest 5.5.Zero has rolled out, with a change over from Irrlicht to their very own fork of the rendering engine IrrlichtMt designed to have special enhancements only for Minetest. What is Minetest? It is an open source voxel game engine, that can be modded into many various games - like Minecraft.

There's fairly quite a few changes apart from the rendering tech changing. Here's some highlights:

- Improved TTF font support

- Contact UI assist for desktop builds

- Joystick sensitivity for player motion

- Links clickable in chat, disabled by default

- Regular texture support (for minimap shading)

- Pause animations whereas recreation is paused

- Handle modpacks containing modpacks properly in the content downloader

- Heaps of recent additions for modders

- Efficiency improvements and bug fixes

- Add a key to toggle display map block boundaries (F8 by default)
