Villager Appearance:

Villagers' jobs will change depending on their job, however the appearance of villager's appearance will differ in each biome. They keep the characteristics specific to their work to ensure that each job is distinct. For example Farmers all wear straw hats and all Librarians will wear glasses.

Trading in stocks

Mojang introduced the wonderful concept of 'Supply & Demand in Mojang 1.14. This means that if a trade is done too often and the villager run out of inventory, but prices (the amount of items/emeralds that you need to give) will increase. Trades can be made up to four times before stock runs out. Villagers will replenish their stock once a day. If an item isn't exchanged for the price will decrease.

Unlocking Trades:

When a trade is concluded between a villager and a player, both of them gain experience. When villagers level up, the next tier of trades can be unlocked. There are five levels of trades for each villager to unlock higher quality items. The level of the villager can be represented by a color-coded badge that is worn on their clothing. It could range from Novice (Stone), Apprentice (Iron), Journeyman/Gold), Expert(Emerald) up to Master(Diamond).

Wandering Trader

This is a little different however, there is one villager who acts nothing like the others. The Wandering Trader is a passive Mob that appears randomly throughout the globe, and with no pattern. It has two leashed trading lamas which are similar to normal llamas but with a slight cosmetic alteration. Another thing that is unique about this Villager is that it has no trading levels, which means that the trades that you've rolled with him are the ones you're stuck with. Don't worry, though, as his trades will reset when he spawns again.

The trades of the Wandering Trader are usually obscure and difficult to locate. Although not particularly powerful or impressive, they are still valuable. The Wandering Trader disappears within 40-60 minutes.

Popularity:

As a player, you have a level of popularity. This is decreased by performing negative actions such as attacking villagers however, it is increased by trading more often or curing zombie villagers. Negative actions increase prices while positive actions decrease them.

Let's say that your village is spontaneously attacked by Illagers when you happen to be in the area and you successfully ward off the attack. You will be rewarded with the 'Hero of The Village" status effect, which will also reduce the cost of trade (except for trades that cost 1 Emerald).

These are the fundamentals of villager jobs as well as village trading. You should now be able manage a villager farm like an expert! Mojang tends to tear the rug under our feet quite often. Trading is a bit more complicated with Supply & Demand mechanics and popularity functions. You can use these features to either greatly help you, or even make trading a mess on your Minecraft server. I hope this guide has served you well. Best of luck and I wish you the best!
