Minecraft Getting In-game Name Changes, Pocket Edition Sells 30 Million

Minecraft players will be able to alter their name in the game soon as the Mojang, the development studio Mojang has announced. The process will be available on February 4th and is very simple. Once the name-changing system is implemented players can change their names in the game by accessing their account. Any name that isn't currently used by another player will still be available. However, players will need to wait 30 days before they can change it again.

If you're worried that someone could swipe your name while you wait 30 days to come back to it do not be afraid: it takes 37 days for an old name to become available to another person. If you would like to change your name to "MinecraftMasta" then we wouldn't have the ability to take MinecraftMasta before you had a chance of getting it back. You cannot alter your inventory or character by changing your name. If someone blocks you and you are unable to get around the block.

Mojang also announced that Minecraft: Pocket Edition has sold more than 30 million copies to date. Pocket Edition sold 21 million copies in April before being extended to Windows Phone users in December. Mojang did not reveal the amount of new sales, however Mojang did announce that Pocket Edition had sold 9 million more copies thanks to its release on a brand new platform. [Image: Mojang]
