'Minecraft' Creation Plays 'Pokemon on A Virtual Game Boy

It's not uncommon to build elaborate devices in Minecraft however this one is particularly eyebrow-raising. Reqaug has constructed an Minecraft machine that plays Pokemon Fire Red for the Game Boy Advance. Although it is very basic at the moment, it is quite extensive. You can even edit the level and replace textures. The creator of the game explains that the entire concept is based on layers of structure blocks (a recent addition) which represent tiles in the game and move when you move.

While there isn't enough here to keep you entertained, Reqaug is quick to emphasize that his work will "always be in the process." It's more about spending enough time, rather than whether or not a bloated Pokemon recreation is possible. And importantly, this doesn't require modding -so long as you're running Minecraft 1.10 you can play it out for yourself. Don't expect a frantic game like Super Mario Bros., because Minecraft isn't fast enough to draw the virtual screen fast enough.
