Minecraft 1.18 Launches This Month But Three Big Features Are "on Hold"


We knew it was coming because the snapshot betas were becoming smaller and smaller. But Mojang has declared it official. The Minecraft 1.18 release date, including all Caves & Cliffs Part 2 features is scheduled to launch in the last week of November. Minecraftservers will be available across all platforms Minecraft supports and includes a host new biomes, an overhauled worlds generation, and much more.

Minecraft 1.18 will be available on November 30. The Java Edition update will be accessible on Windows, Mac, Linux and Linux PCs. The Bedrock Edition will launch on – deep breath – PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X and S.

The update also includes new world generation and upgraded cave systems, as well candles. As previously announced, some features were pushed back from 1.18. They won't be in 1.19 (also known as The Wild update), as the developers have confirmed.

The announcement explains that archaeology bundles, archaeology and goat horns are "put on hold". "They aren't cancelled, we just had to put them on hold for the time being..
