Milky Way and the Galaxy Girls Wiki is a FANDOM Lifestyle Community.
Milky Way is the main protagonist and she is what every girl wants to be and doesn’t realize she already is. Smart, confident, adventurous and fun, Milky’s passion is new experiences! She travels the universe looking for far out friends and astronomic adventures. When she’s back in our solar system, her entourage the Galaxy Girls, are waiting eagerly to hear about her spectacular space odysseys. When she’s not far off in some distant galaxy, Milky’s need for fun and risky business may lead her and her friends into trouble. But Milky’s quick wits and courage always get them back out! Not even the force of gravity can keep this cosmic girl down, She is Voiced By Shannon Chan-Kent.
Milky Way wears a dark-navy shirt with a star (which is usually long sleeved but as of now short sleeved) and a matching minishirt, with endless amounts of stars on the latter. She also has long, blonde hair and white roller skates. Her symbol is a 5-pointed star. Unlike others, she has star shapes in her pupils. She is also the big sister of Andromeda .
Milky Way is the girls' leading member and central focus, who's goal is to discover the existence of the galaxy and what surrounds it. However, she can occasionally be a bit clumsy, as she accidentally frees her soon-to-be arch-nemesis, the Black Hole , by breaking her imprisoned planetoid. She also accidentally puts her friends into trouble. Despite her accident-prone trait, her courage will always get the team back in action.
When she's not fighting the forces of evil, Milky Way loves all sorts of fashion, and is willing to try anything on.

Milky Way and the Galaxy Girls is an animated series by Corey Barber that first began on November 6, 2020. It is a recreation of Lauren Faust's toyline of the same name, directed towards a children's audience, specifically girls. It centers around the life of a teenage girl named Milky Way, along with her fellow friends that make up what is called the "Girlaxy", or Galaxy Girls. Each of the eleven girls has something unique to offer: Milky Way is a fashionista, The Sun is a singer, Mercury is an athlete, Venus is a ballerina, The Moon is a poet, Mars is an artist, Jupiter is an animal caretaker, Saturn is a disc jockey, Uranus is a genius, Neptune is a surfer, and Pluto is a Rockstar with her bandmates Eris and Ceres, a drummer and a bassist.
The reason that the series was created is because a true animated series was intended to happen. In the late 2000s, it was pitched to Hasbro and Cartoon Network, but both rejected them. My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic was eventually created in 2010, but Lauren Faust left the team early and worked on her other project, Super Best Friends Forever , which evolved into DC Superhero Girls in 2019. Unfortunately, she eventually confirmed that Milky Way and the Galaxy Girls was discontinued. Despite this, Corey created an animated series of his own, which can be watched here .
It ran from November 7, 2020 and was canceled on April 28, 2022 with Run Away Ferret , finishing the series with 16 episodes, 1 short, and 1 special due to a hostile work environment.
These are the antagonists that appear on the show. They are not truly villainous as they only have a big hatred towards the girls. Note: Due to the series' cancellation, a few characters did not get to appear in an episode. Ones with a single asterisk * make as much as a background cameo while ones with two ** don't appear at all and rather on TikTok.
Here is the list of the main cast. Additional voices include Peony, Battledroid117, and Corey Barber himself.
Note: In Run Away Ferret , Saturn and Andromeda were recast to Katie Mealey (who even voices her own character ).
The series' pilot series began on November 6, 2020 and ended on January 18, 2021. The first official season has begun on April 3, 2021 with Mars the Not-So-Artistic .
Milky Way and the Galaxy Girls received positive feedback from the viewers. They mostly praised the switch from the pilot series to the new series, where there is now a voice cast, more animation, and better plots. However, some criticize the intro for being 2 minutes long, as usual TV show intros are 1 minute long at best.
The most popular episode is Mars the Not-So-Artistic , and gathered 2,600 views during it's first 3 months, beating the long-time champion Jupiter's Protest! .
On June 16, 2022, members of the MWGG team angrily started to quit and betray Corey due to how he handles situations on the server, and for how he acts. They proceeded to make their own Discord server called "The Better Ones" and ran an ongoing Twitter account called "The Hop Files", exposing Corey amongst a few other people's actions.
On July 24, 2022, the MWGG Discord was deleted, confirming the series' cancellation.
