I am not a teenager. Haven't been for some time. I'm not especially fond of the video or the reason Miley has been headlining the news lately either, BUT, what I am is a music lover. All music. I have a degree in music too, and I write music. That being said, I was pleasantly surprised by Wrecking Ball. The lyrics are heartfelt and poignant, and the melody is simple, but catchy, with a chorus that is powerful in an almost rock-ballad sort of way. The vocals could be stronger in the quieter places (although that could have been on purpose to add emotion) but I really have been enjoying this song, and think it will be around as a standard break-up ballad for quite some time. Stick to the music, Miley!
Everyone is judging this by the music video and the VMA performance. I honestly, would like to talk about the SONG. I thought the lyrical structure was really great, the whole meaning. It talked about a love that she thought she should make stronger, but it just kept emotionally tearing her down, literally like a wrecking ball. She wants to be able to show the love she has for Liam, but yet, it's just... not enough that he keeps this wall that he's built up, and she can't wreck it, to get love in towards him, and to get love from him. It's a story of heartbreak. If people would understand the meaning of the song, people wouldn't hate it so much. I just wish it was easier for people to see the meaning...
I really love this song! It's beautiful, catchy, and heartfelt. I am not a huge fan of Miley and the persona that she had adopted these days, but she definitely can sing. If you don't think of the video ( which is bat-crazy brilliant in the way it pushes people's buttons and gets people to talk about her. Love her or hate her, you are giving her your attention, and honestly that is the whole point of pop celebrity.) when listening to the song, you can really hear the emotion behind the lyrics instead of getting caught up in the nonsense. I haven't been able to stop listening to it.
I will flat out say I'm not a fan and wasn't prior to her exploitive "new" career stint on MTV Awards recently, but I will give credit where credit is due. First song I've ever bought of hers while not being a fan and this is why: the writer's lyrics (not hers) are gritty and real; Miley really pours her heart into this, singing the heck out of it; and it's timeless, who hasn't felt like they gave their all in a relationship at the end of it? It's definitely a song to listen to the lyrics, but as I said, Miley really shows the emotion in it, a vulnerability not typically displayed. Like her or not, this is a song well done.

Bought the song, hate how it has to stay in my amazon music and how it keeps saying buy this song....I already did 🙄 I bought 5 songs in one night only to find out amazon music keeps your music "unless bought and downloaded" which mine are bought but won't allow me to download just claims they are.. yet if they all are then why do songs pop up in my ringtone selection and the rest won't leave amazon music. What's the point in buying a song then, just to listen offline? I dont need music that bad for offline use. Pointless buy
I really had no opinion about Miley Cyrus before I bought the song except that the father had a big hit once that was quite catchy. Tell the truth I hadn't seen the video or even knew who the singer was until after I heard the song a few times. So I bought the song and apparently the mire of opinions and accusations that go with it. So I watched the video; is it a little dirty, perhaps? But I think the video and song have strong emotions that compliment each other so I am going to call it art and let the nay sayers have their opinions and I think I will enjoy the song more for it.
The song was great-however EVERY TIME I want to download the music I bought and paid for I have to download the damn cloudplayer AGAIN-AND I AM GETTING SICK OF IT! It is a pain in the ass to have to download a damn program (cloudplayer) that I never wanted in the first place-thinking seriously of getting my music and everything else from another merchant-don't need this hassle-and I'm sure other merchants would be glad to have my business-whoever thought up this "new and improved" way to download music on here needs to have their head examined-just ridiculous!!!!!!!! And tired of Amazon being so proprietary-just let me have the damn music I bought and paid for!!!!!!
I got to be honest I've never really been that much into Miley Cyrus but this song I Just Can't Get Out of My Head I really like it it certainly by far the best one I've ever heard her sing I was happy I downloaded it
