Mikaela Hoover was destined for stardom. The gorgeous Washington native placed herself in dance and acting classes at a young age and took the reigns as captain of her high school’s dance team. After earning a BA in theater from Loyola Marymount, Mikaela used her talents to land roles on How I Met Your Mother , Two and a Half Men , and Happy Endings . Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you’ve also probably spotted the sexy starlet sharing screen-time with Chris Pratt in last year’s hit, Guardians of the Galaxy . Next up, you’ll catch her in writer/director James Gunn’s next project, The Belko Experiment . It seems Mikaela is a regular player in Gunn’s projects, and we can’t say we’re mad about it.
Mikaela gave Maxim the lowdown on her hometown life, feeling comfortable, and why more guys should look like Jimmy Kimmel.
If I wasn’t acting, I would have loved to be a psychologist . I tried to double major in Psychology & Theater at Loyola Marymount, but felt I needed to concentrate more on theater.
I grew up in a very small town outside of Spokane, Washington called Colbert. I’ve been super blessed and lived in the same house whole life. My parents still live there. It’s on the river with no close neighbors and very lush and green.
I feel the sexiest when I am comfortable , so if I’m not filming, I’m usually wearing sweatpants and a tank. I really don’t like having to get dressed up.
For me, there is never anything better than beer . I was in Italy a few days ago and ordered beer everywhere I went. The Italians looked at me like I was crazy. They kept offering me wine but it’s not really my thing.
I love Big Macs and McDonald’s is my weakness. Any guy who has ever dated me knows if they want to make me happy they surprise me with McDonald’s.
If a guy can be goofy I’m automatically drawn to him. I used to have the biggest crush on Jimmy Kimmel. I liked him when he was chubbier though. I’ve never really been attracted to the “classically” handsome guy. I’ve always liked men with a little meat on their bones.
I’m a huge homebody so pizza and a scary movie is my heaven. Confidence and humor attracts me to a man. And I love when guys where baseball caps. It’s my weakness. I would say Penelope Cruz is a girl crush of mine. Spanish women are so sexy. The way they move and talk drives me crazy! As for what’s next, I’m currently in Europe for a wedding but I leave in a few days for a movie in Colombia called The Belko Experiment . I also just finished a really fun project with my girlfriend Angela Kinsey called Blacked Out.

On Monday night, stars gathered in Los Angeles for the film premiere of “The Suicide Squad.”
Mikaela Hoover, who plays Camila in the movie, appeared on the red carpet alongside her co-stars like Margot Robbie and John Cena. The actress wore a shiny, dazzling silver bra top that looked disco ball-inspired. She wore a silver sequin miniskirt that matched the top, and a few simple silver pieces of jewelry. Her long dark hair was worn down in loose curls and matched her black manicure and pedicure.
Hoover went with silver strappy sandals for her footwear choice, which went along with the sparkly silver monochrome theme of the outfit. Her thin stilettos reached at least 5 inches, giving the 5-foot-1 actress a serious lift. The heels featured a criss-cross ankle strap as well as a toe strap. Jeweled heels have been popular among celebrities lately, with Heidi Klum appearing on the red carpet earlier in August in her own pair.
Hoover attended the premiere with other big name stars like Rita Ora, Storm Reid, Sylvester Stallone and more. She was joined by her boyfriend, “Never Have I Ever” actor Darren Barnet. The two made their red carpet debut as a couple.
“The Suicide Squad” is a film based on DC Comics Suicide Squad team. It is a standalone sequel to the 2016 “Suicide Squad.” The movie hit theaters in the UK on July 30 but will make its US theater debut on Aug. 5, plus HBO Max the same day.
