This 2 on 1 hockey drill is a high tempo drill that works on fast 2 on 1 rushes, quick transitions, and timing in the neutral zone. To set up the drill place four equal lines at the blue lines along the boards. In this diagram the F1 lines will have the pucks.
These hockey drills are appropriate for Midget age level hockey players. This includes players ages 16 and under (Midget Minor), 18 and under (Midget Major), and those who play High School Hockey. Practices should challenge their speed, skills, endurance, strength, and skating ability.
This practice starts with a half ice shooting drill you can run on both sides. It then moves on to two drills that focus on D to D transitions and re-groups with the second drill adding a 2 on 2 situation where the defense need to gap up after the re-group.
