For 2021, Middle School camp is offered at Youthfront Camp West in Edgerton, Kansas!
We believe God has blessed us with one of the finest camp ministries in the country because of our incredible and dedicated staff. Our full-time staff have decades of camp experience as they create the best possible program along with hiring high quality Summer Staff. Our Summer Staff are college-age people who genuinely care about kids and facilitate our camp program. We conduct extensive interviews and background checks for all of our staff hired to make sure that your campers have the most capable and trustworthy leaders during their session of camp. We have at least two staff per cabin and one staff member to every 4 campers across our camp, so you can rest assured that your child will be cared for at all times.
We structure our days around the practice of prayer, so we start each day together in our Chapel for Morning Prayer. This prayer times includes reading scriptures, music, silence, and both corporate and private prayer.
Campers gather together in our Chapel each morning for worship and to hear from our Storyteller about our theme for the session.
We set aside 30 minutes each morning for campers to reflect on what they are learning about God and their faith. This time can include silence, journaling and scripture reading. We provide age appropriate camper journals for each camper that helps guide them during this time each day.
We block out the rest of the morning to spend time together as a cabin! This time is for team building activities, games, and tactile experiences that reinforce the theme from our Storyteller in Morning Gathering.
Our entire camp pauses and gathers together in our Chapel for Midday Prayer. This prayer includes scripture reading, music, silence, and both corporate and private prayer.
Each day we open all of our camp activities and facilities for campers to hang out with one another and our staff. In addition to our main attractions (pool, splash park, waterslide, ropes course and more!), there are organized activities offered throughout the afternoon. We offer freedom for kids to learn how to make choices on their own and build authentic relationships with one another and God in the context of camp community. At the same time we value camp being a safe place for kids that is appropriately supervised.Β
Campers gather together in our Chapel each evening for more worship and to hear from our Storyteller!
We make sure to carve out some time after our Evening Gathering to hear from one another about what we are learning and how we are being encouraged and challenged in our own life and faith.
Each night at camp has a different theme (or what we call Hype), and staff and campers will dress in costumes for all out fun and craziness! Stay tuned for this year’s themes!
After settling down and getting ready for bed, campers will turn lights out and get some Zzz’s in order to be ready for another full day!

Few adults look back on the Middle School years as β€œthe best years of their life.” Middle school is all about feeling awkward, trying to fit in, and puberty.
Our hope is that every camper feels camp is a safe place for them and we are there for them and any potential problem that might arise.Β We want them to know how much they are loved in all their awkwardness and insecurities. In fact, those of us the work with Middle Schoolers believe that in their struggles and insecurities, they are closer to Jesus.Β
The foundations of our teaching faith to the campers is the love flowing through our staff. In the words of Margaret J. Wheatley, β€œThere is no power for change greater than a community discovering what it cares about”. We are part of the Body of Christ. As long as we stay connected to the Vine, we will prosper (John 15: 5). And the love that flows from the vine into us, will continue to flow into the lives of our campers. Campers will learn through community what love is. Also, campers will engage what it means to be one step closer to Jesus through creative teaching times, worship, creative expressions of art, and small group discussions. We hope each camper individually grows one step closer to Jesus. This year our theme for Camp is "No Blind Eye." Our pastors will bring interactive lessons about opening our eyes to our friends, family, community and world.
During the entire week, the main goal is to let the love of Jesus show through our staff into the hearts of our campers. Every camper will be placed in a cabin group for the week. This is a place to feel a part of the community, laugh, and have fun. We have specific community builder games, making sure the kids get to know each other as well as us getting to know them. Throughout the week Front Range Camping tries to engage kids in learning activities that helps them connect to God, to adults, and to one another in healthy ways. Through this experience hopefully each camper feels more confident about oneself and in turn will be more confident back home.
At Front Range Camp we do things in moderation so that campers are exposed to a variety of activities without overloading their senses. This year each middle school campers will be doing a service project. Other activities we offer are hiking, swimming, building new friendships by having time in the games room, field games, octoball, a few crafts, devotions in their cabins, teaching time with our camp pastor, worship time, low-ropes/team building activities, a talent show and so much more. The week will be fun-filled, exciting and I hope it will stretch our campers, and us to grow as a community, but also individually. Our prayer is that there is that one activity which helps our kids to find something they are passionate about.
