Преемником является Microsoft Office 2024, который находится в разработке. Официально Microsoft Office был анонсирован в феврале 2021 года. Предварительная версия для бизнес-пользователей станет доступна в апреле 2021 года. Office 2021 выйдет в двух версиях: для пользователей и малого бизнеса, и Office LTSC для организаций. Цена на Office Professional Plus, Office Standard и отдельные приложения для организаций возрастeт на 10 %, в то время как стоимость для обычных пользователей и малого бизнеса останется прежней. Office LTSC будет содержать Microsoft Teams, но в него не войдёт Skype для бизнеса, который станет доступным для скачивания из Центра загрузок Microsoft.
