I have been an avid music listener for many years. Having recently downsized my living space, no longer had the room for the electronics stack as well as my floor standing speakers. I decided to make the move to powered bookshelf speakers that I could stream to and also connect my turntable to as well (yes, I still enjoy vinyl!) Did some looking online and found good reviews about a Microlab speaker, BT77 Chairman. While it had good reviews, I wanted something a little bigger and with more power and found they make other products. Decided on the Solo 16 based on specs, size and of course price. 6 ½ inch woofers, 1” tweeter and 180 watts of bi amplified power so I pulled the trigger and made the decision to purchase the Solo 16’s. I received them over the weekend, hooked them up with no problem and wow, amazing sound from these compact monitors. Excellent sound stage. They provide a quality of sound rivaling much larger and more expensive speakers I have listened to. For those looking for a compact self-powered monitor, I would highly recommend the Microlab Solo 16’s. Done writing, back to listening………
I had stayed away from powered bookshelf speakers in the past and always believed (now wrongly) they could never rival speakers connected to an external amp or receiver. A friend had a pair of powered speakers that sounded pretty good although seemed a bit underpowered. I started looking and came across the Solo 16's with 180 watts of power, 61/2 inch woofer and 1 inch tweeter and decided to give them a try. The sound output and clarity is just amazing and rivals what I was used to with dedicated speakers and an external amp. Well worth the money!
Good speaker for the price, has good base and clear sound, worth the buy.

Uite Microlab Solo 16 pareri si pret in Romania. In fata noastra se asterne o noua saptamana iar asta ‘necesita’ ceva interesant din partea noastra 🙂 ‘Prin urmare’, ne-am decis sa ne focusam atentia pe niste boxe de PC marca Microlab.
Este vorba despre modelul Solo 16, boxe active in configuratie 2.0 dotate cu Bluetooth, design elegant si multi wati 🙂 Putem spune ca am inceput in forta 🙂 Inainte de a va ‘expune’ detalii despre toate acestea, avem pentru voi 2 ‘chestii’ interesante.
Solo 16 este ‘fratiorul’ mai mic al boxelor ‘flagship’ Microlab Solo 19 (putere de 200 wati, 20 kg greutate, bluetooth). Cea de-a 2-a ‘chestie’ este legata de pret. Solo 16 sunt la vanzare pe site-ul pcgarage pentru suma de 928 lei.
Pentru a face acest articol cat mai ‘lejer’ de citit pentru voi, in randurile de mai jos va prezentam caracteristicile cheie si cateva din parerile noastre. Ce ‘parere’ aveti ? Noi speram ca ‘suna’ destul de bine 🙂

Cele doua boxe poseda o greutate totala de aproape 12kg, ceea ce este ‘incurajator’ pentru niste boxe de ‘raft’. Greutatea generoasa inseamna ca avem materiale ‘grele’ si de calitate + ‘magneti’ de dimensiune destul de generoasa.
Practic basul puternic si ‘patrunzator’ provine de la acea ‘combinatie’. Nu mai are rost sa mentionam ca putere mare de 180W este binevenita. Vecinii nu o sa fie prea incantati de acest aspect 🙂
In ceea ce priveste calitatea audio, noi suntem increzatori ca boxele scot un sunet placut. Noi suntem posesori de boxe Microlab Solo 7C (achizitionate pe final de 2009) iar dupa 10 ani de utilizare, acestea inca suna impecabil (fara nici o exagerare). Cel putin asta este parerea noastra 🙂
Conectivitatea Bluetooth 4.0 de pe noile Solo 16 este un plus evident. Practic boxele pot fi conectate la orice device care dispune de functie Bluetooth (smartphone, tableta, televizor, media player etc).
Datorita diverselor optiuni de conectivitate de care dispun boxele, acestea pot fi ‘legate’ in acelasi timp cu PC -ul (prin cablul jack 3.5mm – RCA), televizorul (prin SPDIF) si smartphone (bluetooth). Posibilitatile de conectare cu diverse device-uri sunt multiple iar asta doar poate sa ne bucure 🙂
Un alt aspect pe care noi il apreciem este legat de accesorii. Aici ne referim in special la cabluri. Practic, producatorul ofera cabluri pentru toti conectorii prezenti pe boxe. No comment 🙂
Legat de design, boxele dispun de ‘panouri’ laterale din lemn ‘vopsit’ in negru lucios. Pe boxa care incorporeaza amplificatorul si conectorii, gasim in partea dreapta butoane de control care iti permit sa ajustezi ‘parametri’ precum volum, bas si inalte. Asta este util 🙂
Partea frontala este usor inclinata astfel incat auditia sa fie cat mai placuta atunci cand boxele sunt ascultate de aproape (pozitionare de-o parte si de alta a unui monitor sau a unui laptop).
Microlab Solo 16 sunt niste boxe tip ‘bookshelf’ interesante, puternice si bine echipate. Conectivitatea wireless este binevenita iar pentru niste boxe active (cu amplificare incorporata), pretul de 1000 lei este destul de bun.
Primul meu smartphone a fost HTC Evo 3D. Un super telefon la vremea lui si de care imi aduc aminte cu mare placere.
In prezent, device-urile mele preferate sunt telefoanele high-end/mid-range (nu conteaza diagonala), tabletele si cam tot ce tine de 'ecosistemul' Android.
Mentionez ca indragesc mult smartphone-urile cu capabilitati excelente pe partile de foto si video (nu cred ca sunt singurul :) ). In afara 'sferei' Android, imi plac device-urile audio (boxe, placi sunet).
