BREAKING: Michael Block Stuns Field to Win 2025 PGA Professional Championship

Omni PGA Frisco Resort, Texas – June 18, 2025

In a dramatic finish at the 2025 PGA Professional Championship, club pro Michael Block defied the odds once again, securing a thrilling two-stroke victory over a stacked field of the country’s top teaching and club professionals.

Block, the 48-year-old fan favorite from Arroyo Trabuco Golf Club in California, shot a final-round 67 to finish at 12-under par, holding off a charging Alex Beach and defending champion Greg Koch. The win earns Block a spot in next month’s PGA Championship at Quail Hollow, where he memorably contended in 2023 before fading on the final day.

'I can't believe it—this is why we grind,' Block said, fighting back tears. 'To be able to do this again, at my age, against these guys… it’s just surreal.'

The tournament, held at the state-of-the-art Omni PGA Frisco Resort, saw brutal heat and gusty winds challenge the field. Block’s steady ball-striking and clutch putting down the stretch proved the difference, including a 25-foot birdie on the 16th that sealed his lead.

Notable performances included mini-tour standout Ashley Grier, who became the first woman to finish in the top 5, and 23-year-old rookie Tyler Collet, whose ace on the par-3 7th sent the crowd into a frenzy.

With the victory, Block earns exemptions into six PGA Tour events over the next year and cements his status as one of the greatest club pros of his generation.
