The Divine Being is the Divine Unity, and nothing exists outside of this Unity, a "monotheistic religion" was a contradiction in terms - Any phenomenon in the universe is, indeed, necessarily an ASPECT of the One-Being: therefore

1. Its Unity makes it eternally unknowable, inconceivable, unspeakable, since "knowing" implies a "knowing" and a "known" - a subject and an object - an agent and a patient - thus TWO beings.

2. The Christian religion, which implies a worshipper AND a worshipped, cannot (except in the very particular case of Zen Buddhism which aims, precisely, at abolishing itself in order to abolish the "Two" and reintegrate the "One" - which, in this case, is equivalent to "Zero" for human cognition; this is the meaning of the word "Zen" : "Nothing" - equivalent to "Ain" in the cabal of the Aryan magi of Babylon and the Ginnungagap of the Wise Men of the North) - and the explanation of the famous magic theorem "0=2", i. e "things can only be Zero or Two") cannot, I say, be " monotheist ".

As soon as the most "monotheistic" Christian (let us call him José) prays "Jesus", he creates the "Two" (to join the "One" via the "Three": me + the god + the rite that "unites" us), and thus worships ONE given god - an "aspect" of the One-being, superior, certainly, on the scale of beings, to the "aspect" named José, but which remains an "aspect" among an infinity of "aspects".

Monotheism is thus not the worship of the divine Unity (which is, once again, by definition a NON-meaning), but an exclusive polytheism: "I serve ONLY my god among all the gods" - "I serve ONLY my god among all the gods" -.

It follows that the notion of BEING ONE is of strictly theoretical, abstract and doctrinal interest - and cannot be (by definition) of any practical use (phenomenal life, whether spiritual, intellectual or material, involves the subject/object binary, agent/patient, etc.) - to consider, in practice, the gods as "aspects of ONE god" is as absurd as going to the butcher to buy bread under the pretext that, after all, the baker and the butcher are both "aspects" of the same Being.

Many people, especially the pagans of spiritually uprooted bar lounges, consider gods only as allegorical models and not as entities that really exist. This is a serious mistake: the gods are absolutely real entities, which are, naturally, in their respective spheres of activity, the ideal models.

So, question: what do we call "a god"?

Axiom: everything in the universe proceeds from a vibratory ENERGY which creates a FORM expressing, in the form of a symbol, the profound nature of THAT from which it (the energy) proceeds: this form finally crystallizes into a PHYSICAL BODY. However, all vibratory energy can only proceed from a LIVING BEING - the mysterious living being, the "This" from which each phenomenon proceeds, is what we call "a god".

We postulate, by virtue of the law of analogy, that the god of the sun (for example), being the god whose deep nature is expressed by the sun, is also the god of EVERYTHING analogous to the sun: spiritual light, purity, beauty, harmony, joy, abundance, etc. - therefore, by coming into contact with him, we will be able to benefit from the spiritual and material benefits which are proper to him - We therefore NAME this god (by a magic formula expressing cabalistically his deep nature - the Divine Name : BALDR in the case of the god of the sun) and, via the archetypes (symbols in analogical resonance with his being, image showing, no longer a "crystallization of his deep nature", like the solar star, but a representation of his PERSON: the one from which proceeds the initial vibratory energy), we endeavour to establish harmonious and fruitful contacts with him.

Once these relationships have been established, the gods themselves teach us the secrets of nature - the wise men record the secrets entrusted to them by the gods, - in the form of narratives that teach the layman the natural law and the ethics derived from it, while awakening the imagination, wonder and magical thinking of children, - so that we can TRANSMIT these teachings - these narratives are what we call MYTHS.

The HIERARCHY between the gods is self-evident - the little deity rector of the flower grove in the nearby park, although quite venerable in her own domain, is obviously subordinate to Frigg, deity rector of the sky, i.e. of destiny, or to Wotan, deity rector of primordial energy, i.e. of Magic.

The gods are thus, in short, "entities living on a higher plane than ours "* - Magic (reminder: "religion" is only the envelope of Magic: religion is to Magic what figures are to numbers) is the art of coming into contact with them, "Mysticism" (ie spiritual discipline) the art of "raising our being to their level".

Of course, it is a long way.

Heil Wotan. 14/88.

* Famous definition given by Aleister Crowley shortly before his death - it is interesting to note that the term for a god in Japan ("kami") literally means "person of a high place".
