Role Description This is a full-time remote role for a Mentor at Elite Skills. The Mentor will work directly with students to provide individualized guidance on career planning, CV and cover letter development, interview preparation, and internship strategy for roles in finance. Day-to-day responsibilities include conducting one-on-one coaching sessions, hosting small group workshops, and offering feedback on application materials and networking outreach. The Mentor will help students understand recruiting timelines, role expectations, and pathways into top finance firms across different regions. The role also involves staying current on industry trends, collaborating with the broader team to refine coaching frameworks, and maintaining accurate notes and progress plans for each student.
Qualifications
* Strong mentoring, coaching, and communication skills, with the ability to provide clear, constructive, and actionable feedback.
* Knowledge of finance career paths, recruiting processes, and internship opportunities, ideally with prior experience in investment banking, private equity, asset management, consulting, or a related field.
* Proficiency in structuring CVs, cover letters, and professional profiles tailored to competitive finance roles.
* Ability to teach and model effective networking, interview preparation, and professional etiquette in international contexts (e.g., UK, France, and global markets).
* Strong organizational and time-management skills to handle multiple students, track progress, and meet agreed timelines in a remote environment.
* Comfort with virtual collaboration tools and online meeting platforms to deliver high-quality remote mentoring.
* Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, business, or a related discipline; advanced degrees or professional certifications (e.g., CFA) are a plus.
* Prior experience in coaching, teaching, or career services is highly beneficial, along with a genuine interest in supporting early-career talent.
