Megamine | FAQ - Mining Pool

MegamineDev
  1. How many pools can I join at once?
You can only join one pool at a time.

  2. Is it better to mine solo or join a pool if I have high-performance devices?
If you have a high-performance device, mining solo most probably gives you higher rewards. However, by joining a pool, you contribute to a specific cause and help strengthen the community.

  3. Can I change mining pools?
In the beta version, you cannot change mining pools. Please make sure you read the information carefully. The full launch version which will come soon in few days will allow you to change pools.

  4. Can I leave a mining pool at any time? What happens to my contributions and rewards in the pool?
In the beta version, you cannot leave a mining pool yet. In the full launch version, you can leave a mining pool at any time. Rewards are distributed in real-time with each block, so there's no need to worry if you decide to leave a pool. Once you leave, you will no longer be considered a contributor and will start receiving rewards as a solo miner.

  5. Do I still have to mine to get rewards?
Yes, active participation in mining is required to earn rewards. If you don’t mine or are inactive, you will not receive any share of the pool’s rewards.

  6. How is tax paid to the pool owner?
Tax is deducted from the rewards before distribution. The amount displayed on your device reflects your final reward after tax deductions.

  7. What is Ticket?
A Ticket, previously called a "Share," is a valid hash sent to the system.
To earn rewards, you need a ticket that contributes to the block that won. If you hold tickets for a block, you may:

▶️ Win the block and earn the winning reward.
    ▶️ Receive shared rewards.
▶️ Not receive any reward if your ticket isn’t qualified.

However, energy is only consumed when you earn either winning rewards or shared rewards. If you don’t receive any rewards, your energy will not be deducted.

  8. Why am I receiving shared rewards from blocks won by pools if I’m not in a pool?
Mining systems give two types of rewards:

▶️ Winning rewards: For the miner or pool that wins the block.
▶️ Shared rewards: For miners who contributed tickets to the block.

If you’re not in a pool but still get shared rewards, it’s because you contributed tickets to a block won by a pool.

  9. I’m in a pool and won a block. Why are my rewards smaller compared to when I mined solo?
When mining solo, you keep all the winning reward for a block you win. In a pool, the winning reward is shared among all pool members who contributed tickets, including the pool owner as tax. But you don't always win a block, so that's why pool mining offers the advantage of consistent rewards from shared contributions, providing more stable earnings.

  10. Diagram Mechanics: How the Mining Pool Works
The distribution percentages will dynamically change over time based on the blocks. The current 60-40% split is provided only as a visual example for better understanding.
