Mega Maps Privacy Policy
MegaGo
Effective date: 17 August 2026
Mega Maps is a map, place-search, route-planning, and navigation application connected to MegaGo services. This policy explains how information is handled when you use Mega Maps.
Information We Handle
Location and Navigation
With your permission, Mega Maps processes your device location to show your position, search around you, display local weather, build routes, estimate supported taxi options, and provide navigation guidance. This may include precise GPS coordinates, speed, course, heading, accuracy, and timestamps supplied by iOS.
Route requests send origin, destination, and any intermediate route coordinates to our routing services. Search, reverse-geocoding, nearby-place, weather, and map requests may also include a search term, coordinates, or the visible map area. During active navigation, location may continue to be processed in the background if you grant Always Location access. Mega Maps shows the iOS background-location indicator while this occurs. You can change location access in iOS Settings.
Account and Authentication
If you sign in, we process your phone number, one-time or review verification code, account identifier, access token, name, and profile information. Mega Maps sends an installation-level device identifier together with app version, build, device model/type, operating-system version, and language metadata to support authentication, session security, compatibility, and service operation.
Authentication tokens are stored in the iOS Keychain. Your cached profile may be stored on the device to improve loading and offline presentation of previously received information.
Profile Photo
If you choose a profile photo, Mega Maps reads only the item you select, converts it to an upload image, and sends it to the authenticated MegaGo profile service. You can delete the profile photo from the profile interface.
Searches, Places, and Saved Data
Search terms are sent to the Mega Maps place-search service to return results. Recently selected results and saved places are stored locally on your device. Active-route information may also be stored locally for a limited period so an interrupted navigation session can be restored. Removing the app deletes its local container; clearing or replacing items in the app updates the corresponding local data.
Payments
The current Mega Maps 1.0 build displays a Wallet interface, but payment and card operations are disabled and the app does not transmit payment-card data through that interface.
Diagnostics and Analytics
Mega Maps 1.0 does not include advertising, cross-app tracking, third-party analytics, or third-party crash-reporting SDKs. Release builds do not upload diagnostic logs. Standard network infrastructure may process technical connection information, such as IP address and request timestamps, to deliver and protect the service.
How We Use Information
We use information to:
- provide maps, search, place details, weather, routing, and navigation;
- authenticate users and maintain secure sessions;
- provide and update account and profile features;
- return supported device/AmuZar and taxi-related results;
- protect, troubleshoot, and maintain service availability; and
- meet applicable legal obligations and respond to valid user requests.
We do not use Mega Maps data for cross-app tracking or targeted advertising.
Service Providers and Data Sources
Mega Maps uses:
- MapLibre for on-device map rendering;
- Mega Maps and MegaGo servers for map styles and tiles, place search, points of interest, routing, account services, supported device services, and taxi estimates;
- OpenStreetMap-derived data and OpenFreeMap resources for map and place content;
- Open-Meteo for weather forecasts based on location; and
- Wikimedia Commons when a place-detail image is loaded from a Wikimedia URL.
These providers receive the request information needed to return their content. Their processing may also be governed by their own terms and privacy policies. Mega Maps does not claim ownership of third-party map, place, imagery, or weather data.
Retention
Local search history, saved places, preferences, cached profile information, and route-restoration data remain on the device until replaced, cleared by the app's behavior, or removed with the app. Authentication tokens remain in Keychain until logout, invalidation, or removal.
Server-side account and service data is retained only as long as reasonably needed to provide and secure the service, satisfy legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. Retention can vary by data type and legal requirement. When a valid deletion request is completed, information is deleted or de-identified unless retention is legally required.
Security
Mega Maps uses HTTPS for network communication and the iOS Keychain for authentication tokens. We apply reasonable technical and organizational safeguards, but no method of transmission or storage is completely secure.
Your Choices and Rights
You can:
- deny or limit location access, including Precise Location and background access, in iOS Settings;
- use core map browsing without signing in;
- update your profile name and photo;
- delete your profile photo;
- sign out to remove the current authentication token; and
- permanently delete your account from Profile by choosing Akkauntni o‘chirish and confirming the warning; and
- request access, correction, or deletion of account information through the support contacts below.
Account deletion is a server-side operation. In Profile, choose Akkauntni o‘chirish and confirm the permanent deletion warning. After the server confirms deletion, Mega Maps clears the cached profile and authentication token and signs you out. Information that must be retained for legal, security, fraud-prevention, dispute-resolution, or accounting obligations may be retained only for the period required by applicable law. You may also contact MegaGo Support about your privacy rights; this does not replace any rights available under applicable law.
Children's Privacy
Mega Maps is a general-audience navigation service and is not designed to knowingly collect personal information from children who cannot lawfully consent under applicable law. A parent or guardian who believes a child provided personal information should contact support so the matter can be reviewed and appropriate action taken.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy when Mega Maps functionality, providers, or legal requirements change. The current version will show its effective date and be published at the policy URL.
