Meet the red panda Bhumo!

🌏 Recently, I received a bracelet from Fahlo along with an amazing card that directly unlocks the rescue story and shows the real‑life journey of each red panda through a unique GPS collar in the Fahlo app!

🤩 In my case, I got a red panda named Bhumo — which translates as “daughter”!

🌿 Here’s a wonderful story about a female red panda named Bhumo, brought to you by Fahlo in partnership with the conservation organization RPN (Red Panda Network)!

🤔 What is the Fahlo red panda bracelet? It’s a bracelet that lets you follow the movements of a real wild red panda almost in real time. It’s completely safe for both humans and animals. Essentially, you get to know your panda and can track its journey via the Fahlo app.

🏔️ Why is this important? The project engages people in wildlife conservation and helps build communities that support environmental initiatives — they donate funds and participate in programs to protect wild animals. In the case of the red panda, the bracelet was created in partnership with the AZA SAFE: Red Panda program, and the funds raised go toward supporting conservation projects in Nepal.

My red panda — Bhumo:

📸 Here’s an inspiring story that gives hope that red pandas can be saved:

“Bhumo (‘bu‑mo’, which in the local dialect means ‘daughter’) is a female panda who was first spotted with her mother. After leaving her birth area, Bhumo traveled north in search of a new home. For nearly three months, she moved through unsuitable habitats — including roads, livestock pastures, and human settlements — before finally settling in a new area 15 miles (24 km) north of her mother’s range.”

🌏 Unfortunately, cases where red pandas are forced to travel through unsuitable habitats are not exceptions but a systemic issue.

🌿🏔️ The mountain forests where red pandas live are increasingly threatened by deforestation, agricultural expansion, and infrastructure development. Their habitat becomes fragmented: instead of a single forested area, there are now isolated patches separated by roads, villages, and power lines. In such conditions, a panda may be forced to leave the forest not only due to food shortages but also because it can’t find a mate or a safe place to give birth to cubs.

🫂✨ That’s why the work of the Red Panda Network and other organizations is so crucial. Their projects give red pandas a second chance — to preserve life in the wild forest, which is an essential part of the region’s climate and ecosystem.

💔 By destroying these forests, we’re losing not just land but the key indicators of nature’s health and the true ambassadors of local wildlife — the red pandas.

For me, the red panda named Bhumo is an extraordinary animal with her own story, character, and journey.

😍 It’s amazing to realize that somewhere in the mountains of Nepal, she’s living her wild life — and I can support conservation projects that help protect animals like her.

⏳ Perhaps I’ll occasionally share updates on my channel about Bhumo’s life in Nepal! It’ll be an interesting format!

💸 A huge thank you to the owner and my fellow enthusiast behind the “World of the Red Panda” channel for being able to deliver the bracelet and make it possible to pay for it and channel the funds to wildlife foundations protecting red pandas in their natural habitat.

Let’s save Bhumo, other red pandas, and their natural habitat!
