McKayla Maroney has proudly confirmed that she is the one who posted the sultry Instagram video of herself showing off her curves in nothing but a tiny tank top and black thong, after many fans thought she had been hacked.
The racy video , which has racked up more than 800,000 views since it was posted on Saturday, led many to believe that the 21-year-old Olympic gymnast was the victim of a hacking.
However, she set her fans straight later that day, revealing that she was the one who posted the footage of herself scantily clad and seductively dancing.
McKayla Maroney took to Instagram on Saturday to share a video of herself showing off her curves in a tiny tank top and a black thong
In the video, McKayla is seen running her fingers through her hair while shaking her pert backside for the camera.
'Another world premiere,' she captioned the sexy footage, which had jaws dropping over the weekend.
A couple of years ago, the athlete had nude photos of herself leaked online, and her new video led many to believe that she had been hacked again.
However, she took to both Twitter and Instagram to confirm that she was the one who posted the video.
She captioned the sultry footage of herself dancing: 'another world premiere'
She tweeted: 'hey, im just doing me. if u want me to be a role model so bad, get inspired by how i give 0 f***s and go do u.'
McKayla shared a similar message on Instagram along with a photo of someone making a shadow of a heart with her hands over a meadow filled with flowers, writing: 'i didn't get hacked. unfollow if u need to. all love.'
In 2014, nude photos of McKayla were leaked onto several pornography sites, and her attorney wrote letters to site likes Porn.com demanding that they remove the naked images of the then-teenager.
McKayla's lawyers confirmed that the photos of the gymnast were taken when she was under 18-years-old; despite the fact that she previously tweeted the photos of her were 'fake'.
'Shout out to my fans for defending me all day long.. even when things got weird u stood by me. and that meant the world,' she tweeted at the time.
McKayla share this image on Instagram, urging people to unfollow her if they 'need to'
McKayla also shared a stream of tweets about the video on her Twitter page
Almost three years later, many of her 1.2 million Instagram followers thought she was hacked for a second time before she took credit for the video.
Unsurprisingly, the footage caused an uproar in the comments section, as people fiercely debated whether or not it was appropriate for her to post the footage when she is a 'role model' for young girls.
'So much for the whole role model thing,' one person wrote, while another commented: 'Wow you are on the way to rock bottom..lol no pun intended.'
However, some people just saw the video as a sign that the Olympian is growing up, with many noting she is working on becoming a musician in Los Angeles.
McKayla became an online star after she was photographed pursing her lips in a moment of disappointment at the 2012 Olympics, which became known as her 'not impressed' face
The former gymnast's meme-worthy face was her reaction to her second place finish during the vault finals at the 2012 Games
'You are unbelievably sexy and beautiful - keep expressing yourself however you see fit,' one person wrote.
Meanwhile, others accused McKayla of having her derriere surgically enhanced by getting butt implants.
'WTF did you do to yourself? Mckay chill,' someone commented. 'You are heading down a path I promise you later on you will regret. You dont need those fake enhancements. Just get back into the gym and do your thing. Come on girl!'
It has been nearly five years since McKayla helped the U.S. gymnastics team take home the gold at the London 2012 Olympics.
After retiring from gymnastics in February 2016, McKayla revealed she was pursuing a career in music in Los Angeles
The former athlete often shares sultry photos of herself on Instagram, and people have been debating if it is appropriate because she is a 'role model' for young girls
During the games, the former gymnast won the hearts of millions after she was photographed pursing her lips on the medal podium in a moment of disappointment over her second place finish in the vault finals.
The image of her 'not impressed' face over her silver medal turned her into an internet sensation.
However, last summer, she was called out by fans for her 'trout mouth' after she looked almost unrecognizable during a telecast of the Women's Gymnastics Olympic Trials that took place in July.
The telecast featured old clips of McKayla competing in the 2012 Olympics, and fans quickly took to Twitter to point out how much she has changed, particularly in terms of the plump pout she now models.
McKayla's new image has also sparked plastic surgery rumors, with some claiming she got butt implants after she posted the video of herself dancing

But a few days later, McKayla insisted her new look was the result of the make-up tricks she had incorporated into her beauty routine.
'First of all, that I haven't,' she told Seventeen.com about the rumors that she's had lip injections. 'And I've posted a picture on Instagram last night that was like, how do I make my face look like I didn't do anything to my face when I literally have not done anything to my face?'
McKayla announced her retirement from elite gymnastics in February 2016 during an interview on the GymCastic podcast in which she spoke candidly about her health issues and her desire to put her 'worth and value into something else'.
The former athlete is now pursuing a career in music and looking to become a male version of Drake. That ambition has made her an even stronger presence on social media, and she often posts photos of herself modeling crop tops and figure-hugging ensembles.
'Growing up in the social media world, it's tough,' she told Seventeen.com at the time. 'Your face changes, you get older, your face fills out, and you fall into liking makeup and different stuff like that. And for people saying that, for the most part — it would kind of hurt my feelings when you haven't done anything.'

Celebrities’ nude photos, including McKayla Maroney and Misty May-Treanor, removed from some websites

LOS ANGELES – As federal investigators worked Tuesday to determine who stole and posted nude photos of several female celebrities online, the images continued to be removed from various sites.
Among those allegedly hacked was Olympic champion gymnast McKayla Maroney of Orange County, whose attorneys said she was underage in several photos taken of her. Fellow Orange County Olympian Misty May-Treanor was among the others whose photos were posted.
Copyright complaints apparently prompted the removal of images from sharing site Imgur.com and rendered links on the social networking site Reddit inoperable in what experts call an online version of “whack-a-mole” that will never fully scrub the intimate photos of Oscar winner Jennifer Lawrence and other stars from the Internet.
Apple said Tuesday that its engineers have determined that hackers breached individual accounts, but didn’t obtain general access to a pair of its services, iCloud and Find my iPhone.
The FBI offered no details Tuesday on its efforts to identify the people responsible for stealing the images and posting them, but said on Monday that the agency was aware of the breach and was “addressing the matter.” Previous investigations have involved the use of search warrants and digital forensics to determine how hackers obtained everything from Paris Hilton’s contact list to nude photos of actresses Scarlett Johansson and Mila Kunis.
Maroney, who turned 18 last December, initially tweeted that the nude and scantily clad photos purportedly of her were “fake.” “(T)he fake photos of me are crazy!! was trying to rise above it all, and not give ‘the creator’,” Maroney wrote.
In a letter to Porn.com, which reposted the photos, Maroney’s attorneys, however, said she was underage in several of the photos and demanded they be taken down immediately, according to TMZ. The website complied with the request. An attorney for Maroney also sent letters to several websites claiming that Maroney owns the copyright to the photos.
Lawrence, a three-time Oscar nominee who won for her role in “Silver Linings Playbook,” contacted authorities after the images began appearing Sunday. By Tuesday, a Reddit thread that had been compiling links to images of nude photos of Lawrence and other celebrities had been disabled “due to a copyright claim.” Users reported difficulty finding working links to the images on other sites, although they remained active on sites that specialize in online piracy.
Representatives of Twitter, Reddit and Imgur did not respond to messages Tuesday. Apple said it was cooperating with the FBI and urged users to adopt stronger passwords and enable the two-step authentication feature to prevent.
Naked images purporting to be of other stars also were posted, although the authenticity of many couldn’t be confirmed.
Mark Rasch, a former federal prosecutor who specialized in computer crimes, said investigators will focus on not only who’s responsible for the theft of the photos, but the tools they used and even the idiosyncrasies of how they program.
“There is a digital trail,” Rasch said. “What you hope for (is) the people aren’t very good at what they do, that they screw up, that they (upset) other hackers. Or that they leave a trail.”
Lawrence and other stars who were hacked are now confronting on a very personal level a problem that has dogged the entertainment industry for years — online piracy.
“Even if you can get it taken down, it’s likely to pop up somewhere else,” said F. Jay Dougherty, a law professor at Loyola Law School Los Angeles who specializes in entertainment and intellectual property issues.
Mickey Osterreicher, a media lawyer and general counsel for the National Press Photographers Association, said that while a successful copyright complaint could scrub the images from a site forever, Lawrence and other celebrities will have to remain vigilant and continue filing takedown notices.
“You have to go to each place,” he said. “It’s kind of like playing whack-a-mole.”

McKayla Maroney has a message for her online critics: Stop following, please.
After a sexy video of the former Olympic gymnast dancing around in a tank top and a black thong surfaced on her Instagram page Sunday, the 21-year-old confirmed to her 1.2 million followers she wasn’t the victim of a social media hack.
“i didn’t get hacked. unfollow if u need to. all love,” Maroney posted.
Maroney has come a long way since stealing the show at the 2012 Olympics with her infamous “unimpressed” face after being awarded the silver medal for her vaulting performance. She announced her retirement from gymnastics last summer, revealing her aspirations to become a pop star.
Maroney shot down accusations of a hack in September 2014, after alleged nude images of the gymnast were leaked online. She later called the photos fake.
“the fake photos of me are crazy!! was trying to rise above it all, and not give ‘the creator’ the time of day,” Maroney tweeted .
