Albert Einstein's famous equation, E = mc2, has nearly infinite applications in physics. But one of its most obvious ramifications is that even a small amount of mass can produce a huge amount of energy. The example given in this video from MinutePhysics is that a cat, if it's energy was fully extracted, could power the country of Norway for a year. Unfortunately, things aren't that simple.
In reality, it's extremely hard to extract energy from mass. There are a few methods to go about this, but even those that seem extremely powerful to us, such as nuclear fission or fusion, still only convert a tiny amount of the potential energy of mass (.08% and .7%, respectively).
Other than using antimatter, which is extremely rare in the universe, the most efficient way to go about extracting energy from mass is to drop the mass into a black hole. Black holes are extremely tiny, yet contain an incredible gravitational force. That means that when objects enter their orbit, they speed up faster and faster as they fall into the hole. Think about a meteor entering the Earth's atmosphere--it burns as it speeds up upon entry, releasing its energy. Now imagine that object traveling exponentially faster, releasing it's energy into the universe before it falls into a black hole forever.
Using this method with a non-rotating black hole, 6% of an object's mass will be converted into energy. But we can do better. With rotating black holes, which bend the fabric of space time, objects can orbit much closer to the event horizon before falling in, therefore releasing more of their energy--up to 42%.
None of this means much to us here on Earth, where we're stuck using inefficient methods like nuclear fission to release energy from matter. But maybe some alien species out there has already managed to harness this energy, and fuel their civilization solely off the energy produced by black holes.

Could you also make it possible to escape the black hole's pull?
Make sure you have all experimental features enabled on the world, you have both the behaviour pack AND the resource pack applied, and that you are crafting with 1 nether star and 8 iron blocks in the crafting table, not the inventory. The iron blocks must be separated in the grid, not together in a stack.
Ooooooooh I really love all the educational stuff with this one. I'd love to see more hypotheticals like strange matter, anti-matter galaxies, and my personal favorite, "baby universes". This would fit with the whole black hole thing, and if you haven't heard of it (though I suspect you have) it basically suggests that super dense matter in the middle of a black hole kind of bounces back and makes a new universe with slightly different laws of physics. If you could do like a new dimension or something and make it give constant movement-altering effects, that'd be dope. Then again, the coding for any of the things I listed would be monstrous, so maybe keep on doing what you do best.
Oh, and props to you for making the most balanced teleportation system on mcpedl, even if it just started as a cool concept.

I love this addon, I think you did really great and I enjoy using it for stupid ideas I get in creative words, I do have a couple suggestions tho such as being able to use the blackhole as a power source or it being able to speed up stuff around it like furnace or crop growth speed
I don't think that last one is possible, but I'll see if I can make it power things in a future update. It's not very high up on my priority list at the moment though :)
You should try to make a space map or addon that adds a new dimension which would be space and have all the planets and maybe it could be like a simulator
I would love to, except you can’t add new dimensions in just yet. I plan to make the End the home for the black holes.
Thanks for the kind words, folks! Please note that I will be frequently developing this with the intent of adding many of the features suggested in the wonderful comments, including many different sizes which can slowly progress to the next size up as they swallow more entities!
The mod is very good but you can make the black hole absorb everything that is around it such as blocks, mobs, items and that it grows little by little and increases its strength
That is something I plan to do in the future, but it won't be soon. I also want to maintain a balance between vanilla-style and accurate, which might render that sort of thing too complicated to worry about.
The fact that you tried to keep it as close to the real science as possible and even wrote that big description is very appealing to me. Good luck with your future projects!

This addon is great! But can you make it suck in blocks and slowly pull you in and if your closer to it it will pull you in faster and do that with items and mobs and make it grow when it sucks in something please? :)
I plan to do all of those things eventually! The only downside is that for smooth gravitational movement it will probably require either entities or scripting, neither of which I am very confident with.
i love Minecraft, and I love space! I will admit that I may be semi-young but I was intrigued in how you explained black holes, which I have always been fascinated by and I honestly cant wait to try this addon! :3

I added Black Holes in Minecraft. when placed, the black holes will absorb nearby blocks and liquids to gradually get stronger. Any mobs or item in range has a chance to die instantly (doesn't apply to the player). To remove a black hole, just right click on it's center (the coal block). You'll get back the egg to spawn it again.[ Note : It's size will be reset.] If two black holes are placed they will merge to make a stronger one. I do not recommend to place more than 2 or 3 black holes in the same world as they are ressource consuming. Enjoy this mass destruction weapon !
for some reason my world wont reload so the data pack wont work

in hindsight not having a way to kill switch the black hole... is kinda bad XD
forgot to say that to remove the black hole you just have to right click on it's center. (similar to how you retrieve an helmet from an armor stand). thanks , I'll add it in the description.
