Fairy Tails Mavis Vermillion is a truly beloved character, and nothing proves that more than these cosplayers bringing her to life!

Cute is an apt way to describe Mavis, the first guild leader of the legendary Fairy Tail guild. From her appearance to the way she acts, everything is centered around being a cute little girl, the type that would make Fans go aww if they saw them in the store. She has that sort of cheerful personality that would be hard to ever stay mad at.
The simple pink dress she wears plays into that as well, same going to the little wings that she has tucked over her ears. Both the attire and the cute nature of the character are why she's as popular as she is with cosplayers.
Mavis and Zeref are eternally intertwined together, their love for one another being one of the big plot points in the final arc, along with Zeref's love for his brother.
While they aren't overly lovey-dovey here, it's not a necessity, two of them showing how the pair are two sides of the same coin. The dark and brooding color of black contrasted with the bright and vibrant pink, showing that in many ways, opposites are always going to attract one another.
One thing about Mavis is that she's a bundle of energy, a giant kid, no matter how old she is in actuality. Her leaping onto Lucy's back to be carried around isn't out of character for her, nor is that big smile on Littlered's face.
She has an energy about her that fits so well with the character. Cosplay itself isn't any slouch either, simple yet effective in portraying the character. The same can be said of Lucy, even if the hair is a tad too yellow.
While Parachutescos may not be a fan of the Fairy Tail series any longer, she nailed her cosplay of Mavis. She's one of the few people who have the curled hair standing up in the middle of her head, a staple of how the character looked in the series.
It's also the perfect shade of blond, so light in color that it's closer to white than yellow. The way she's hugging the tree and looking skyward feels like she feels Zeref's presence nearby, yearning to see him once again.
That hand sign is a staple of the guild, the one often used to symbolize what it means to be part of the guild, showing that it's a giant family that will always look out for each other. While she wasn't there when it was done, the scene when it was done for Laxus was one of the best.
Few characters embody that philosophy more than Mavis, the first guild leader helping instill it with the values that still ring true today. The only downside to the cosplay is that the wings by her ears are pink rather than white, but that's a minor thing.
There's a degree of power in a smile as it shows more than just the joy of a person, it can become infectious, just as laughter can be. Caillecos has one of those smiles that warms the hearts of fans when they see it, much in the same way that Mavis did to Zeref in the series.
Her genuine joy and happiness were hard to fight against, the black wizard being unable to. While she doesn't have the typical garb that Mavis wears, she has the look and personality needed to cosplay as Fairy Tail's first guild leader.
The backdrop of this picture is incredible, from the creek rippling below them to the dead trees to the algae-filled rocks they are standing on. It feels like one of those chance meetings the two of them had throughout the series, always bumping into one another in the forest.
What really puts it over the top is the cosplayer's dedication to the character, committing so fully that she went barefoot in a place like this. It helps make the picture absolute perfection.
When you've lived as long as Mavis has, your bound to have a few friends that are no longer around. She's the type of character who would go to visit their graves as well, paying her respects to them in the only way she knows how.
Fans could imagine her spending hours at a time talking with Zera's headstone, telling her all about what she and the guild have been up to. Nariasway helps show that even here, Mavis would keep the same exuberance that is so tied to her character.
If there's one thing Mavis did better than any other character in Fairy Tail, it was her facial expressions. She made so many great faces throughout the series that Jojoscarion's decision to make a smug face is perfect.
Fans can just imagine her looking like that after outsmarting someone with one of her strategies. It's something that would be meme-worthy, a fact that the cosplayer agrees with, making the face for that purpose alone.
If it weren't for Zeref, Zera may have been the character most tied to Mavis. She was Mavis's first friend, the only one who ever showed any sort of compassion to her while she was in the Red Lizard guild.
Their entire story together is rather heartbreaking when fans find out Zera had been dead for so long, but the connection Mavis made was real, and both cosplayers show that very well. Fans can see the joy on not only their faces but their body language as well.
The Alvarez arc is filled with touching moments, and the scene where Mavis and Zera briefly reunite is right up there near the top. The tragic backstory of the two only made the moment more impactful, and both cosplayers reenact the scene beautifully.
Both of them nail their cosplays, but the picture is more than just that. It's all in how they are embraced, the looks of contentment on each of their faces. Fans can feel how much the two of them care for each other.
