Gaining insights into the concrete curing status is valuable for every construction project. Monitoring temperature and strength development as well as relative humidity enables process optimisation as redundant curing or drying time can be reduced and schedules are adapted based on real-time data.
Infrastructure projects have tight schedules and planned years in advance. Keeping the overview of the often simultaneous casts and the micromanagement on-site are challenges. Using a digital concrete monitoring tool as Maturix for infrastructure projects enables to cut down redundant waiting time while ensuring a great product quality and that the required strength has been reached on-site.
By using smart wireless sensors monitoring in ciritcal positions, the curing process of the cast can be measured, followed, monitored and thus optimised. The system provides real-time insights into concrete temperature, maturity and strength development. Based on this data, the schedule can be optimised cutting redundant curing time. Extensive infrastructure projects have tight pre-defined schedules. With Maturix the project is optimised based on real-time data from the site to save time and money.
Monitoring and controlling the strength development for foundations and floors enable a faster, safer and more efficient workflow.
Based on data, the optimal time to remove the formwork is determined and micromanagement onsite can align with the concrete status.
Temperature is measured directly inside the structure using a thermocouple which is connected to a transmitter. The Maturix transmitter sends the data wirelessly to the cloud, the software automatically calculates maturity and estimates strength. The results are accessible from your phone or computer from anywhere in real-time in the Maturix web portal.
When building bridges , controlling the concrete curing process is important. Fast but safe formwork removal is key for an efficient project where weather and wind conditions strongly influence the project. Traditional methods of ten do not reflect the same curing process and monitoring in the structure enables optimization of the workflow based on data.
Using several sensors to monitor the curing process of a bridge at different positions. This enables controlling the curing process and also reducing the risk of high internal temperature differences which can cause cracks. With the wireless data transmissions, on-site visits are reduced as the data is available through the web portal.
Post-tensioning is a technique to reinforce concrete. It makes it stronger and more flexible compared to conventional steel-reinforced concrete. Steel cables inside plastic sleeves are positioned in the form, then the concrete is cast. After the concrete has gained the required strength, the cables are tensioned and anchored against the outer edges. Here, the timing for the stressing is essential to ensure great product quality. The post-tensioned concrete can be thinner and longer compared to conventional concrete slabs without any risk of cracking as the embedded cables help to stabilize.
The specific technique is commonly used for large commercial or industrial projects as extra equipment and skills are required. The additional costs for the post-tensioning are however outreached with cutting down material costs as less reinforcing material is needed.
By using sensors measuring directly in the structure you can follow the curing behavior in real-time. The data is send continously to the cloud and then accessible in the web browser. When the required strength has been reached, a notification is send via SMS or Email and the schedule can be aligned according to the data.
Subways, dams or other projects with high demand on the concrete structure as large foundations require mass concreting. When pouring mass concrete, it is important to monitor the curing process to control not only the overall strength development but also to follow the internal temperature differences and act accordingly, as cracks and an overall low product quality can result in enormous repairing costs.
Using several devices with type K thermocouples enables to cover also vast concrete elements. The devices are set up in different positions to measure temperature and calculate the strength development. Alarms are set up in the software to further monitor the internal temperature differences to take action before cracks occur. Monitoring the curing ensures high quality and a safe construction process while reducing unnecessary precautions and redundant waiting time and.
Using a smart monitoring system for each precast element enables to demould faster, while ensuring the required strength has been reached. Thus, the productivity for each lane is enhanced. The option to integrate the heating system can cut energy costs further.
Monitor the strength development at each element (hollow core element, prestressed elements, beams, slabs or elements requiring post-tensioning). You receive real-time insights into the curing development accessible on your phone or computer. The option to set up a dashboard in the facility further improve the operation cycles and boost efficiency.
