A new British study reveals that men have an 11 year lag behind women when it comes to maturing. According to the study, commissioned by Nickelodeon UK, the average man doesn't reach full emotional maturity until age 43, while women mature by age 32.
The study was released Monday and conducted just in time for the results to launch with a new Nickelodeon UK comic series called Wendell & Vinnie, which features a 30-year-old bachelor who suddenly becomes the legal guardian of his mature 12-year-old nephew.
"As a man, especially one who works for a children's channel, the question if men ever reach maturity is one I am well accustomed to," Tim Patterson, Nickelodeon's programming director, said.
The study confirmed the suspicions that men mature later than women. In fact, men were almost twice as likely to describe themselves as immature than women were, and one in four men believe they are actively immature. Three out of ten women ended a relationship because they lost patience with their man's immaturity.
The male and female perceptions of themselves and each other were alarming. Eight out of ten women believe that men will "never stop being childish." Women defined the childish acts that bother them most as, passing gas, burping, eating fast food in the last hours of the night, and playing videogames.
Women were twice as likely to experience the feeling that they were the grownup one in their current relationship. Forty-six percent of the female participants studied have had a relationship in which they felt they had to mother their male counterpart. Women claimed they actually had to tell their man to, "act his age" on an average of 14 times a year, more than once a month.
Besides maturity, women yearned for communication. One quarter of women wished their partners would talk about themselves and what they felt more often. Women also felt they were the ones that made all the important decisions in their relationships.
Despite divorce rates, how do couples manage to stay together at all, considering the staggeringly distant ages of maturity? According to the study, 40 percent of people said they thought immaturity was an important component in keeping relationships fun and fresh, and 33 percent said the immaturity helped when bonding with kids.
"However as the characters show in our new program Wendell & Vinnie, a difference in maturity between two people makes for an amusing partnership," Patterson pointed out.
The study also exposed " Men's Top 30 Maturity Failings — As Experienced By Women " The top ten are listed as the following:
These findings can be re-affirmed with previous studies conducted on the prefrontal cortex (PFC), the part of the brain just behind the forehead that is responsible for a lot of men's shortcomings. The PFC has been referred to as the, "CEO of the brain" as well as the "mother." This brain region controls cognitive analysis and abstract thought, as well as corrective behavior in social situations.
Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) studies have made it possible for scientists to watch the rate at which the PFC matures, and have discovered the male brain doesn't fully develop until age 25. Meanwhile, women experience a maturity rate of 21 years-old.
MRIs have revealed the brain has a developmental process that tends to occur from the back of the brain to the front, which explains why the prefrontal cortex develops last. With an immature PFC, even though the person can intellectualize dangerous situation or poor behavior, they may engage regardless. The slowness of a man's brain maturation can explain the list of maturity failings, and their own recognition and admittance of those failings.

RM43 is a powerful weed killer used in a variety of applications, whether you are preserving your driveway, your barns, your fence rows, or your tennis courts. There’s a lot to know about this popular product, so we’ve gathered some of the most common questions—and answers—here for your reference.
RM43 is a herbicide with that is just over 43% Glyphosate, which is stronger than most commercially available mixes.
Can RM43 be used to clear out an area you plan to reseed later?
RM43 is designed to not only kill existing plants, but also prevent others from coming back, which makes it ideal for fence rows, sidewalks driveways, and around the perimeters of areas that are hard to trim or mow. Because it is so good at what it does, it can keep weeds and other plants from growing for up to a year; to answer your question directly, technically, yes, you’ll be able to reseed it, but not for some time. We’d recommend our Compare-N-Save Grass & Weed Killer if you plan on renovating existing land.
Do I need to spray it on the leaves or the roots?
Spray it on the leaves. The glyphosate in RM43 works best when absorbed through foliage to kill the current plants. Spray as many leaves as possible, being careful that overspray doesn’t land on the foliage of the plants you want to keep; RM43 does not discriminate between weeds and your prize rose bushes. That said, this product is also absorbed through root systems and can offer total vegetation control when applied to the bare ground. For best results, do not cut or mow treated areas for two months following treatment to ensure they won’t grow back.
It can, which is why we recommend utmost care when spraying around new and established trees. The older the tree, the less likely it will be directly affected; RM43 is absorbed most readily through the foliage and minimally through the roots, so the further you spray away from a tree’s leaves and root system, the safer your tree is. Of course, this is with the assumption you want to save your trees. If you want to kill a tree, RM43 can kill it and prevent it from coming back; however, depending on the size of the tree, there may easier, faster, and more economical ways to do so.
There are two dilution ratios we recommend, depending on your desired result. For total vegetation control, meaning weed-free down to the bare ground, we recommend a concentration of 7.4 fluid ounces of RM43 per gallon of water, up to ten gallons, with a maximum application rate of 7.4 fluid ounces of product per 1,000 square feet (2.5 gallons per acre) per year. For spot treatment, mix 6oz of product per gallon of water.
RM43 is effective any time it is used, but optimum performance on most plants is achieved in the late spring, early summer when plants are actively growing. Spray on calm, warm, sunny days for best results. Special note: if spraying woody brush and vines, wait until late summer or fall, after fruit formation.

Youth might be worshipped nowadays, but here at Huff/Post50, we think it's confidence that truly makes a person sexy ... no matter what their age. And there's no better proof of that than 73-year-old Nora.
The gorgeous septuagenarian is the subject of photographer Emily Stein 's latest collection, " Hello I'm Nora ," with styling by Janine Eveson. The series -- which captures Nora's beauty, confidence, style and sexuality -- aims to defy the notion that women become invisible as they age.
"As women we are always struggling to accept our looks, no matter what we look like and whatever age we are," Stein told The Huffington Post. For Nora, that acceptance is still a work in progress. "Now she is older, she tries to re-invent herself, to make herself useful in society, trying not to disappear."
The beautiful photos, including some of Nora rocking lingerie, were crafted "to celebrate Nora in all her glory," said Stein, who met Nora, a neighbor, by chance while walking down the street.
Women, she says, don't realize how amazing they truly are, and instead succumb to the pressures in media and magazines.
"We all tend to be a bit insecure about our looks, and as we age this continues," Stein said. "It would be great if we could try to accept ourselves and that we are all unique and beautiful in our own ways."
