A doctor is probably still in school at 24, an attorney may stil be in school or just starting a career. A pro athlete is most likely in his prime, though some athletes careers are over by 24. In the big scheme of things, 24 is young. You have 40 maybe 50 years ahead of you to be in the workforce. It's too young to be a grandparent.

As I write this , I am 44. It doesn't seem like 20 years have passed. At 24 I had a degree in History from University , I had won two College National Championships in Ultimate Frisbee , and had no idea what I was going to do with my life. I had $30,000 in debt from college loans, no job prospects, and Ultimate Frisbee had no professional leagues I could aspire to play in , but I was burnt out on playing anyway. I always wanted to go to law school , but after 5 years and $30,000 in outstanding loans, another 3 years of school and $100,000 more in loans wasn't appealing to me.
So I decided to take some time to find myself. I devoted 10 years to learning guitar, learning Spanish and surfing as much as I could, with a 10 year limit.
After 10 amazing years spent working in beach towns in the summer and traveling all winter, I enrolled in Nursing School and became a Nurse, and here I am.
So 24 is the beginning , the end of childhood for sure, but the start of adventure. As Neil Young said, “Twenty-four and so much more…”

I can only assume you have asked this question because either you think 24 is old or because someone has stated that a 24 year-old is “too old” for something (like playing with dolls or riding a hobby-horse or something like that). Don’t let age confine or define you. You are only going to be any age in particular for a year. The magic of life is that it is always changing and you are always evolving along with it. Don’t ever lose your lust for living - and if that means getting down on the floor to play with dolls or riding that hobby-horse, so be it!
When you are 80, 24 is going to seem like a lifetime ago (and it will be) and you will remember the days as a “young person” hopefully with fondness and little regret.
