Just a little thing I found and use as a spit mat in preference to a towel etc.

The Finish line absorbent mat is rubber backed and looks neat on the floor. Should be available into any bicycle store.

I guess it's not a bad idea, but I would rather toss an old newspaper on the floor and throw it away when it's....uh......full, rather than having a spit soaked, albeit dry, mat on the floor permanently.

I use plain old washcloths, which I rotate out on at least a weekly basis. (I use a different color to make sure my bath and trumpet washcloths don't get confused.)

I also keep a fresh one in the trumpet case at all times. You never know when you'll be playing somewhere where spraying water everywhere isn't kosher. _________________ Yamaha 8310Z trumpet

I keep some of these around for chemical spills and use them on the floor to catch water-key effluent. Can be reused several times and keeps the mess off tile floors etc. Not real pricey either and you never know when you may have to change a diaper. We always used them on the changing table. I also used them in the darkroom back when I did a lot of printing as it was easier to throw these away and not have a messy cleanup.

If I might offer a little advice to the seller of the plank...

It might be nice to provide pictures of your product on the page or at least on the more info link.

I shouldn't need to watch a cutsie video for 60 seconds just to see what you are selling.

A question that immediately springs to my mind when I experience sites like this, and this is only my personal reaction, is "what are they trying to hide or obscure?"

That said, I will stick to the hand towel and clothes washer method.

JUST my opinion: 29.00, and rather than just tossing an old newspaper or paper towel in the trash, one more thing to schlep to gigs or lessons, and clean later?

Not for me.

I put a hand towel over one knee. Everything goes there. I've done this for trumpet, french horn and now euphonium. Tidy and nothing to trip over. _________________ Richard

I use one of the collapsible dog water bowls, wipe and re-use. They are cheap I'm sure, I had mine given to me, so the price was perfect.

10 Sins That Must Be Confessed Before Receiving the Holy Eucharist

P.S. – Would you do Courageous Priest a favor and share this info with your friends on Facebook, Twitter or Email right now? We truly appreciate it.
Or leave a comment, we would love to hear what you think.

Because Souls Perish For the Lack of Knowledge!
Do you need to go to confession first?
You can’t receive the Eucharist if you’ve:
etc. etc. The list is not exhaustive, and any sin that we have meditated on before hand, understood its gravity and still chosen to do it can be a deadly sin.
Blogger Note:  Numbers 8 through 10 would depend mostly upon the gravity of the sin.
C.C.C. 1857   For a sin to be mortal, three conditions must together be met: “Mortal sin is sin whose object is grave matter and which is also committed with full knowledge and deliberate consent.” 131
1 Corinthians 11:27 27 Therefore whosoever shall eat this bread, or drink the chalice of the Lord unworthily, shall be guilty of the body and of the blood of the Lord.
Don’t step out of bounds…and by all means…if you do…get back in bounds through confession! Don’t desecrate the Eucharist and receive it as some sort of prize you’ve earned simply by showing up for Mass!

Courageous? More like naive and insensitive to the fact that human beings possess the fundamental human need to survive and that’s what sexuality is all about. God didn’t give man the ability to love and procreate to have him conscientiously repress deep emotional feelings of love and the satisfaction of helping the human race survive. You fail to understand the basic needs of man and your own brothers in the priesthood who have been ordered to repress natural, God-given, emotions for whatever reason you could conjure. Is there any real wonder why priests molest? Why priests would probably say that the greatest mental challenge they face daily is celibacy? There’s a reason and that reason is the inate need to survive given to us by our Lord to insure survival of our species. You obviously haven’t learned the basics of biology in seminary. Perhaps it should be taught to impart a better understanding of the human condition.
You are clearly not a Catholic, or interested in being one. Not sure why you are on this site.
i confess what i remember. but whats on my mind when i go to confession is the last part
of the apostals greed
i believe in the holy ghost and the holy catholic church
the commune of saints the forgiveness of sins the resurection of the body and life ever lasting
and i remember that jesus forgives all sins no mater how bad or how many
we forget god is more intristed in getting you to heaven. amd he wants you
so much he even sent his son in the trinity to us to atone for all sins as far back as creation and continues to forgive to this day.
The priest did not refuse confession, he refused absolution because the penitent was not sorry for slandering her priest, as the bible says in 1 Samuel 16:7For the Lord sees not as man sees: man looks on the outward appearance, but the Lord looks on the heart.” Only if the person shows no willingness to give up sin does the priest retain, that is withhold absolution, as we do not give what is holy to unrependants (Mt 7:6). Remember not to judge, for a priest is sent “to deal with us as a father deals with his children, encouraging, comforting, and urging us to live lives worthy of God” (1 Thess. 2:11-12)
I know of a Priest who refused confession because the penitent did not like their parish priest, so don’t ever preach that anyone could confess & be forgiven!
If the penitent did not like the Parish Priest, that’s a sin. Priests are God’s anointed one. Disliking a Priest is judging a Priest. Priest are a gift from God, whatever they do, you like it or not, they are the instrument of God. He refused confession because the sin will be retain once you leave the confessor.
Judith Feltner, your tone is wholly disrespectful; no matter whom you are addressing, it is unnecessary.
Why does the Catholic Church make Holy Communion available on Fridays during Lent?
According to the list, nobody can receive Communion: Missed church – Sex outside of marriage – Masturbation – Hate – Anger – Lust – Pride – Greed – Sloth – Envy. Everyone has at least one of these on their list. The word “Communion” in the Bible is the Greek word for “Fellowship” [koinónia]. It is probably the very thing you need while you are furiously checking off your items on this list. Communion is spirit-to-Spirit fellowship with God, and it is the very thing people need when they look at the list and see themselves on it. Tell a sinner he can’t receive Communion? Why don’t you just kick him out of the church? And if you kick out all of the admitted sinners, the only ones left will be the liars!
You know it says that you simply have to confess the sin before receiving communion right. We are all sinners, we all fall short sometimes, thats why we have confession, to help us repent and be forgiven
Dr Mike The forgiveness of sins requires that you are truly sorry and resolve to obey the word of God, then he can go to confession and as the bible says our sins are forgiven! “whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven” (Mat 16:19)Just before Christ left this world, he gave the apostles special authority to make God’s forgiveness present to all people, and the whole Christian world accepted this, until just a few centuries ago when new religions were invented after martin luther’s revolution.
Another person who not interested in being a Catholic, so one wonders his reason for being here. Thank you, Father, for the reminders and the encouragement to remain in a state of grace.
I hope you will now go to confession regularly. It is so good for your soul. Once you start going you will want to go more regularly. Many graces are given and you will go stronger! Don’t give up or ever feel bad about what you did not know. Many of us are “cradle Catholics.”
Buy the “Chatechism of the Catholic Church” preferably the one revised by Pope John Paul II
Liberia editrice vaticana
You will learn much! There’s also a great website called “formed”
Ask your parish or call around to others to see if they subscribe to get the passcode. It’s worth it.
Blessings and Happy Easter
KJ
I couldn’t agree more. It happened to me- and I’m not bragging or anything like that. I had missed confession for over 30yrs. When I made that first confession, I had a new lease on life and I am so happy now. With God back in my life, I never knew how good it could be.
I think we must aware on our dailly life and movements, those ten sins are really unpleasing to our King and God, believe that if we still have this sins we are unhappy or not in peace. It is a great sins mortal, if we die with those sins we will go to HELL, so if we recieve Jesus in the Holy Eucharist with sins we are also adding those sins we had. So in order for us to live without sins and peaceful life, we will need our Holy Mother, Mary, she will help us in our dailly life, s
