Stan Lee passed away while the film was being edited. As a result, Marvel Studios put together the special opening logo to honor him.
The plot centers around a light-speed engine that would be of immense value to one of the alien races given how fast it will allow them to travel through space. Their method of travel, however, is already drastically faster than light speed. Utilizing this engine would actually slow them down considerably. This could have been made clearer in the movie, but the FTL travel used by the Kree is a network of "jump points", essentially stable wormholes. This is the same method used in both Guardians films. The jump points exist in fixed locations and lead to other fixed locations, and their distribution is irregular. The lightspeed engine described in the film would presumably permit travel at lightspeed (or faster) directly rather than by means of jump points. This would enable trips to places that might not be readily reachable by jumps, and therefore would make a ship with such an engine much harder to track and follow for someone without such an engine.
As this is the first Marvel Cinematic Universe film released after Stan Lee 's death, the Marvel Studios logo features images and clips of Lee's cameos and comes with a message: "THANK YOU STAN".

Captain Marvel (2019) is Marvel's first attempt to create a female hero and to also tie some loose ends from past movies. The main quality this movie has is the story and the plot twist. Marvel created a handful of amazing movies, unfortunately Captain Marvel (2019) is NOT one of them. The movie suffers of multiple issues. I don't know if it's the actor or the direction but Brie Larson as Captain Marvel did NOT click with me. I think that she did a fine job but she did NOT leave an impression on me compared to Robert Downey, Jr. Or as Iron Man or Chris Hemsworth as Thor. The moment I saw those guys on screen I just KNEW there is no other human being capable of replacing them. The fighting scenes are average thus they were a bit of a let down... I was expecting more of Marvel since they raised the bar so high with spectacular movies such as Captain America The Winter Soldier. Marvel made the same mistake as in Black Panther. The hero is WAY TOO STRONG. The only real satisfying and memorable wins are the ones you have to fight and struggle for! Conclusion: Captain Marvel (2019) is a decent movie but compared to the rest of the Marvel Movies it lacks the charm, a clear strong message, and also tension making it a lower tier movie.
