Sometimes there's no accounting for the wave of inspiration that will hit a writer. This week, I was hit by an idea for a story that I had always wanted to write, but never known the right way to do so.
For a long time now, I've been a fan of the concept of the Master PC Universe created by JR Parz. It ended up being a popular enough story that it spawned dozens of spin-off stories written by other authors, using the concept of this mythical computer program that grants the user an ability to 'edit' the bodies, minds, emotions, memories, personalities, as well as the entirety of reality, as they see fit. I have always wanted to write my own Master PC story, and so I did.
This doesn't mean that I'm slacking off on Fullfillment. I've been working on that one too. I'm just taking a quick break from it to finish this new, quick story. I hope you'll all enjoy it once I'm done proofreading and revising it (and coming up with a good title for it, as that has still eluded me). I'll be posting it here, but it may end up elsewhere, like MCstories.com or Overflowingbra.com

More Onion and Tisiphone are coming
Hi everyone! With the recent completion of a couple of chapters in Tisiphone, I've directed my focus now on finishing the third chapter of Onion that I started. Vidalia's story will continue. I just wanted to ensure that my readers know that I haven't abandoned that story, and that it is a world I think about often and jot notes down for it. This is also not the end of Tisiphone, either. I've still got many ideas for that story too. Oh, and it's also my birthday today. ;)
Why Haven't I Posted Any Stories Lately?
I haven't updated with any new stories or story updates in a while. November, traditionally, is the month that I devote to NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month www.nanowrimo.org). NaNoWriMo is a challenge to write a 50,000 word novel during the month of November. During this month, I devote my time to my non-erotica writing projects, and as such Onion, Tisiphone, and my other projects have been put on the back burner. I will be getting back to them soon. I just wanted to check in with you all and let you know that I'm not dead.
Moments of Weakness Don't a Weak Woman Make
Sometimes we all just have bad days. This week, I found myself stranded on the side of the freeway in 105 degree heat, my car crippled by a flat tire. While I did have a donut spare in the trunk of my car, I found myself unable to apply enough torque to remove the lug nuts of the tire. I suppose they had been tightened too tightly the last time I had that particular tire replaced. No matter how hard I tried, I couldn't get it to budge. I'm ashamed to admit that I submitted to defeat. Frustrated, I kicked the tire, screamed at my own futility, and broke down in sweat and tears. I felt like a weak and helpless woman. Out of curiosity, are you actually reading Masters of Doom or listening to the Wil Wheaton audio-book version?
I'm reading the actual book. Well, an e-book version I downloaded onto my Kindle.
I didn't know that Wil Wheaton did the audio-book version, though. That's pretty neat
He did a great job. It's a fantastic book, too! No others quite like it if you're interested in video game history. (Well, the interesting parts of it)
I've been very interested in video game history. I've read Steven Kent's 'Ultimate History of Videogames' and Jeff Ryan's 'Super Mario: How Nintendo Conquered America', which are both very interesting books full of info about the roots of the game industry.
Then I recommend you check out some classic game post-mortem videos over at gdcvault.com. Some are more about the technical side of their development, but others just discuss why many of the design decisions were made. The one for Maniac Mansion is particularly awesome.
I'll check i out. I remember playing Maniac Mansion and Day of the Tentacle, and loved them both.
Well the making-of stories are almost as cool a the games themselves!
