Owner Kendra Jenks, 25, of Waverly said Much 건마 Kneaded has been open for around a month.

“A lot of my clients are people who know me; I’m trying really hard to get myself out there,” Jenks said.

Jenks is originally from the Waterford area and went to Washington State Community College to get her degree as a Licensed Massage Therapist (LMT) through the Massage Therapy program.

Her services range from Swedish massages to pregnancy massages, which Jenks said are great for expectant mothers.

“There’s a lot of different positioning,” she said. “(They depend on) how far along you are in the term; you can only be in certain positions because of the baby…but it’s very healthy and therapeutic for the baby; it’s beneficial to both (the baby and mother).”

Massages are good for stress relief and more, Jenks said.

“You just feel good, plain and simple,” she said. “It helps with blood flow, muscle tension and helps with headaches. It’s helpful for people with Sciatica, pinched nerves. It makes you more limber and makes you just feel relaxed.”

Charlotte Keim, president and CEO of the Marietta Area Chamber of Commerce, said the new business could help fill a niche.

“We had more places offering massage services the last few years but many of them have disappeared,” she said.

Jenks rents the space from Jennifer Dennis, 마사지 owner of Back2Back Chiropractic and Wellness Center, whom she had as a teacher at Washington State Community College.

Situating the business inside of a chiropractic office was a good move, Jenks said.

After sitting down with Dennis, Jenks said the massage business was a good fit.
