About PowerStack
PowerStack is an executive platform connecting the senior leaders who are building, financing and enabling the next generation of power infrastructure. AI, data center expansion, electrification and new manufacturing are driving demand for power faster than the grid can keep up, and that makes power one of the biggest infrastructure challenges of the next decade. PowerStack brings together decision-makers from AI and hyperscale computing, power generation, utilities, nuclear and advanced energy, infrastructure finance and government. Our programs are built around how the whole system connects:
Demand · Power · Capital · Deployment.
PowerStack was founded by Monika Kochhar, a successful entrepreneur known for bringing leaders together in thoughtfully curated rooms and creating conversations that cross traditional industry boundaries. She is backed by Jonathan Weiner and Stefan Weitz, leaders behind world-leading conferences including HumanX, HLTH, ViVE, Shoptalk and Money20/20, to build PowerStack into a leading platform for the new power economy. In March 2027 we will launch the PowerStack × HumanX pavilion at Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas, where AI leaders will meet the people who power them. We're a small, early-stage team based in New York. Everyone who joins now will help decide what PowerStack becomes.
The Role
We're hiring our first Director of Marketing to build PowerStack's marketing function and audience engine from the ground up. That means growing our audience database, building out HubSpot and our email program, strengthening our web & social presence, refining the PowerStack brand, and creating the marketing plan for our first two major events.
We need a hands-on, MarTech-minded marketer who is equally comfortable setting strategy and executing it. You'll start as an individual contributor, working closely with existing team members and external design and web development partners, and have the opportunity to build and lead a dedicated marketing team as PowerStack grows.
This role will initially be structured as a contract engagement through the PowerStack × HumanX event in March 2027, with the opportunity to transition into a full-time leadership role based on performance, mutual fit and PowerStack's growth.
Building From the Ground Up
This is a ground-up build. You'll create and scale PowerStack's marketing function around two milestones:
* March 2027: the PowerStack × HumanX pavilion at Mandalay Bay, Las Vegas. This is our first large-scale presence.
* Late 2027 / 2028: PowerStack Standalone Event (exact dates to be announced).
You'll establish the systems, audience, processes and external partners needed to deliver both milestones, while building a marketing engine and first-party audience that PowerStack owns for the long term.
What You'll Do
* Grow PowerStack's audience database from its existing foundation into a large, high-quality first-party audience. Work with the broader PowerStack team to source, research and enrich data on senior executives across AI and hyperscale, utilities, power generation, nuclear and advanced energy, infrastructure finance and government.
* Build the audience required to support PowerStack's growth, including scaling the database to several thousand qualified contacts to support attendance for the PowerStack × HumanX pavilion and, critically, to create a proprietary audience for PowerStack's future standalone event.
* Leverage PowerStack's partnership with HumanX and other distribution partners to extend reach for the March 2027 pavilion, while keeping the long-term focus on building PowerStack's own audience, data and direct marketing capabilities.
* Own data enrichment, segmentation, hygiene and compliance. Select and run the tools and processes needed to keep the database accurate, well segmented, permission-aware and growing.
* Lead the setup and ongoing development of HubSpot Marketing Hub as PowerStack's marketing database and email platform, including data architecture, properties, lists and segmentation, workflows, templates, lead scoring and reporting. You'll have support from team members with event-tech and systems experience as the stack is configured and integrated.
* Plan and run email marketing, including invitations, application and approval flows, nurture sequences, announcements, attendee campaigns and sponsor-related campaigns, with rigorous attention to deliverability, consent, privacy and applicable marketing regulations.
* Own website strategy, content and conversion performance, working hands-on with contracted design and web development partners to deliver frequent updates, landing pages, campaign assets and ongoing improvements.
* Build and grow PowerStack's social presence, starting with LinkedIn. Set the channel strategy, run the content calendar, grow the audience and track engagement.
* Refine, codify and steward the PowerStack brand for the long term, building on the existing brand identity while creating clear standards for voice, messaging, visual consistency and future growth.
* Create and execute the marketing plan and roadmap for the PowerStack × HumanX pavilion (March 2027), then for PowerStack's standalone event (late 2027 / 2028). Each plan will cover audience growth and acquisition, channels, campaigns, timelines, budget, conversion targets and KPIs.
* Own the marketing requirements and day-to-day use of the MarTech and event marketing stack, including HubSpot, registration technology, enrichment tools and analytics, working with internal and external support to configure and integrate the necessary systems. Report regularly on audience growth, funnel performance and campaign effectiveness.
* Work closely with Sales, Content, Event Operations, contracted Creative and web partners so audience acquisition, campaigns, sponsor deliverables, event communications and brand remain aligned.
* Remain hands-on as an individual contributor at first, while helping build and eventually lead the marketing team as the business scales.
What You Bring
* 10+ years in B2B marketing, including direct experience marketing conferences, trade shows or major B2B events in a leading or significant supporting role.
* A demonstrated understanding of event audience acquisition: how to build a qualified database, convert prospects into registrations and attendees, and sustain engagement before, during and after an event.
* Hands-on HubSpot expertise, including data models, properties, segmentation, workflows, email automation and reporting, with experience building or substantially developing a HubSpot environment.
* Experience building and enriching B2B databases with tools such as ZoomInfo, Apollo, Clay, Clearbit and/or LinkedIn Sales Navigator.
* A track record of growing an email program and audience database for a senior B2B audience.
* Experience building a brand's social presence, especially on LinkedIn, for a B2B or executive audience.
* Equally comfortable setting strategy and executing it yourself — this is a hands-on leadership role, not a strategy-only position.
* An analytical, data-driven approach and comfort owning targets.
* Working knowledge of B2B marketing compliance, including email consent, privacy, opt-out requirements and responsible use of audience data.
* Comfort operating in an early-stage environment where roles are broad, systems and processes are still being built, and senior leaders remain hands-on.
Nice to Have
* Familiarity with energy, utilities, infrastructure or AI/data center markets.
* Experience launching a first-year event or building the marketing engine for a new event platform.
* HubSpot certifications.
Why Join
* Be PowerStack's first marketing leader and build the function from the ground up — the audience, systems, brand, campaigns and, over time, the team.
* Join at the inception of a new event platform and have a meaningful role in shaping how PowerStack builds its audience, brand and market presence for the long term.
* Work alongside experienced leaders behind HumanX, HLTH, ViVE, Shoptalk and Money20/20, while building an audience across the companies shaping the new power economy.
* Start with a highly visible March 2027 launch in partnership with HumanX, with the opportunity to grow into a full-time marketing leadership role as PowerStack builds its standalone event platform.
